Computer Networks 5th By Andrew S. Tanenbaum (International Economy Edition)

This is the english edition for a very important book for education

This is *THE* book on computer networks. With source code examples, it provides a lot of information any professional will need to further build their skill.

Very readable written with enough low key humor to keep the reader engaged. Good as a first introduction- doesn't get into the details too deeply. People familiar with the subject might find it a bit superficial.

Very good book for learning everything about networking.

This is NOT the same content as regular edition. There is no chapter on network security. Other chapters seem to be abbreviated as well.

Very good introduction and detailed explanation of ISO model.If you need explanation of TCP/IP model, you need to find some other book though.

This is an incomplete edition, missing the Network Security chapter you may expect. Comes in around 150 pages shorter, once you account for shorter indexes, contents pages, and content.

Please note that this edition is not authorised for circulation outside the Indian Subcontinent. Amazon removed it from the UK site once but I see it has crept back on.

Only go for this book if you've ample time. Strictly not recommended for last minute reading. There's no doubt about the quality of the book. Very well explained. Covers all the topics of GATE. Highly recommended for university exams. The major and only disappointing thing about the book is that it doesn't has any content. Only the chapter name and page numbers. That's it.

4th edition much much better than this 5th edition. Security chapter, index pages etc.. are no more in this edition. Forget about low quality printing. Printing companies like Pearson, TataMcgraw Hill why they removed topics in Indian edition books. Nowadays I fearing to buy especially Pearson, TataMcgraw Hill printing books....
