Fantastic bird nest well built and thoughtful design. Forget about all the fancy nests available all the diffrent shapes and colours. All a wild bird needs is a solid unobtrusive place to shelter and feed their chick's.

There's 2 points to mention here about this nesting box, point 1, the build quality here is exceptional, the care of the details for the fledglings survival is extremely important, this box has it all, metal plate around hole, solid wood all round, kerfs for chicks to grab on to when ready to leave, slopping bottom, metal grate to catch unwanted insects, drain holes, air holes for ventilation drilled at angle, completely weatherproof, and large enough for wireless camera as I've done, please see image, & hinged front for easy cleaning. Point 2, not just for nesting time, this box is perfect for the adult birds to roost in the harsh winter months, rain,snow, wind, frost, ECT, essential for the adult birds survival, once in, they will come back to roost, as already said, completely weatherproof. It comes untreated but that's a good thing, 10 minutes of your time to paint, stain, any colour or shade to suit your garden, take care of your box, and it will serve you well,

I bought this Birdhouse to replace an old one that had simply seen better days, rotten and falling apart, also my old bird house's entrance hole had been enlarged by larger birds pecking to try and get at the blue tits that were nesting within So, I was attracted to the Whitehorse Birdhouse because of the metal ring/guard protector initially, once I had read so many positive reviews I decided to purchase and I have to say the quality, design and value are exceptional, I am very pleased with this birdhouse and would highly reccommend this product, nicely packaged arrived quickly, easy to install and looks great in my garden!

Never had a bird house before and wanted it to be successful, lots of reading later opted for this cedar wood one as its sturdy and doesnt warp also great insulation, the entrance ring plate was too large for keeping bluebirds safe from bigger birds, I replaced it with a 25mm ring,couldnt believe 2 bluebirds took up residence immediately after it went up approx 20mins, really wanted it in a particular place but would have been too hot facing sun, info advises box faces N or NE which im glad we did, so much activity to watch going in and out with nesting materials. Like it doesn't have a landing perch keeping predators away, also sloping roof for rain to run off, also comes with the fixings. More expensive that most but should last a good few years. Changing the ring size to suit birds you're providing for is important, a great tit also showing interest but was too big to get in, think might need get another one for other side of garden 😆 Would be good if you could choose ring size when ordering rather than the 38mm provided

Well made and easy to put up. Haven't had any birds yet but the house was put up after nesting. Hopefully it will be occupied next year. Looks lovely on the wall.

These are perfect. Built great, quality. Easy access to open, ingenious design for the floor too. With the removable (and cleanable) bottom and the perfect corner drains. The ventilation is perfect too. I'm so very pleased. I've done bluebird trails for decades, Audobon outings, prairie and woodland restorations -I'm not new to bird houses-even built some in the past. This one is terrific. I'm no longer living in the country, now in a large city with no bluebirds. But still have had broods of chickadees and house wrens and they've fledged last year; I just KNOW these new houses will attract them again this year (for a possible 2nd brood) or certainly next spring. The entrance hole is the perfect 1 1/2" and the entrance protector/extension is just right. I can't say this a a great bluebird house for the money. I WILL say this is a great bird house PERIOD.

Le premier est solidement fixé contre la paroi de ma remise avec les 4 vis fournies (qui sont de bonne qualité), et le second est directement vissé sur le tronc d’un arbre, avec l’ouverture bien orientée vers le Sud-Est. Avant installation, j’ai appliqué une couche d’huile de tung pure, totalement non toxique pour les oiseaux, afin d’améliorer l’imperméabilité du bois. La fabrication est excellente, tout est bien conçu et robuste. Maintenant, il ne reste plus qu'à patienter pour voir les mésanges s’y installer ! 🐦✨

This bird house surpasses every other bird house on the market that I looked at in terms of quality, bird safety, functionality, sturdiness, and craftsmanship, and it's also attractive. It is important to note that Whitehorse bird houses are constructed with fledgling kerfs on the inside below the entrance hole to assist young birds in climbing up to the exit so that they do not die inside. This is a crucial feature that many bird houses on the market lack! Additionally, Whitehorse bird houses have a double roof to help prevent overheating inside. They also contain a wire mesh floor to assist in keeping nests clean as well as a lower, sloped floor with drain holes which allow dirt and debris to slide out of the house, also helping to keep the inside of the house clean. The bottom of the bird house is recessed so that it stays dry. Moreover, exterior vent holes are angled upwards to prevent rain from entering, and the roof contains channels for directing rainwater. The roof extends approximately 2 inches beyond the entrance hole below, sheltering it from the elements. Furthermore, the entrance hole contains a predator guard with a steel plate to prevent enlargement of the hole. The sturdy construction is of 3/4" cedar, which can be coated or painted if desired, and the joints are wind and rain proof. The front of the bird house opens for easy cleaning of the inside and closes snuggly and securely afterwards. This is a very well-designed, well-made product which is far superior to many bird houses on the market and will last for many years. It provides good value for the money, and the customer service is excellent. I recommend Whitehorse bird houses without reservation.
