The Devil's in the Details! LOVE this movie!!
Absolutely fun and insightful movie for people who enjoy romantic movies. Must pay attention to details though to fully appreciate the movie. If you're not paying attention you'll miss the nuances and the movie will appear to drag. BUT, if you pay attention you'll catch all the twists and turns. This is the kind of movie that may change the way you view love and fate - the kind of movie you'll remember years from now.

He later got at SAG card and enjoyed being part of the show biz
My son and daughter were extras in this movie in 1987. My son Clint danced with Kelly McGillis. It was the high point in his young life.He later got at SAG card and enjoyed being part of the show biz. I wish people understood the hard work and long hours that our"stars" put in and how sensitive and kind they all are. I was able to work with the casting side in Charleston, SC, with some of thegreats...Thank you Amazon for making this dvd available to my family. My beautiful son was killed in a car accident. It was someonewith too much alcohol. He was one of the sensitive young "stars" and this time in his life was special to all of us. It has a story to beremembered.

Celestial Love Story
Made In Heaven is a film starring Kelly McGillis as initially Annie Packert and Timothy Hutton initially as Mike Shea. The character of Mike Shea dies via drowning after attempting to save some people from being trapped in an automobile. Shea was on his way to California before his death and had just been dumped by his girlfriend. Mike Shea dies and is then greeted in heaven by his Aunt Lisa (Maureen Stapleton). His aunt explains to him how heaven works and he soon goes about seeing what heaven is like for himself. He soon meets a spirit named Annie and unexpectedly falls in love with her. Annie ends up reincarnating back on earth just as her and Mike were mapping out their life together in heaven. Anyhow, the spirit of Mike Shea petitions with one of heaven’s guides named Emett (Debra Winger) in order to reincarnate back on earth. The reason being is because he obviously loves Annie dearly and appears to naturally be hesitant to wait the length of another human lifetime just to be with her. There are multiple guest appearances from other celebrities in Made In Heaven As Well (Tom Petty, Ric Ocasek from the Cars, Ellen Barkin, and Neil Young). This film is best for those who like romantic movies with a spiritual slant.

LOVE!
LOVE - is what this movie is about. In fact, I think this is one of the best and sweetest movies about love. It reminded me about myself in my teen age, before I even felt the first touch or kiss. I already knew and felt something like this. As if I already have experienced it. Not just the touch, not just the kiss, but the sensation of intimacy and closeness, that accompanies it. Since then I have barely sensed it in my real life after having a few lovers and being married. But I always knew, that there is something - something very deep and I will feel it. This movie was like an illustration to what I felt: we are all looking for something sacred, unexplainable, something that we have felt long ago (if ever) in this life. May be, that something - is the love from heaven - pure, simple, strong, and deep. May be that's why we don't want to settle and be with somebody we don't really feel deeply connected. I think that a lot of people just see this movie as an easy chick flick - angels, heavens, a little drama here and there just for the sake of happy ending. But to me it's not. To me it's such an inspiration in support on my path to a deeper, meaningful connection, a reminder, that may be, I am right not to agree to have "something" instead of having it all... We'll see, time will tell. Meanwhile, I am so happy to own this on DVD now: I used to have a VHS, but a DVD copy is widescreen, and the quality is, of course, incomparably better.

Profoundly beautiful movies, as appealing now (2017) as it was when it came out. My husband and I can relate to the journey of finding each other, something that seemed totally preplanned before we came here. I had a detailed dream two years before we met that really got to me.

Not as good as I remembered
I rented this for me and the wife to watch, as I swore it was a great film back in the day. My wife had big expectations, but...fell asleep after 15 minutes. I swear it was better than this, but watching it again, it was almost like watching a cheesy Hallmark film. I didn't even bother to finish it.

We Never Danced...in Heaven
I caught part of this movie on TV and had to buy it as I was intrigued by what I saw. Interesting story and fantastic song. I had to pull the song by The Motels up on UTube and post it on my favorites. I still listen to and sing along with the song. I don't watch the entire movie all that much. Parts of it just don't seem to fit or run smoothly. Mike's second persona on earth seemed to be miscast as a drifting type. While Annie's first trip to earth showed her as much more driven and talented. But the scene on the day of his 30th birthday when he is walking and she runs after him and stops, he turns and slowly looks at her is one of the most romantic scenes ever.Yes, I would recommend watching this either on TV or on DVD. It does give those who believe in soul mates a glimpse of the possibilities.

Amazingly even better 27 years later
Wow, I suppose I haven't seen this movie since I was quite young. I recall it got a 'turkey' rating in Leonard Maltin's movie book (pre internet). I loved it then and I loved it now. I was surprised and pleased at how much I enjoyed this now -- 80s hair and all. It's a beautiful story -- though, I suppose, not for everyone, including Leonard Maltin -- and there was more to it than I remembered, which is even better. Cameos are plentiful and amusing: keep an eye out. Also just learned the theme song was written by Neil Young. This is one of my very favorites, and I'm amazed it was even more beautiful a couple decades later. I'm trying to think if I should add a corny warning, but I don't think so; go ahead and ignore that poster (it's incredibly irrelevant) and check this out if you like a good life-affirming, creative, philosophical and magical tale. I might even put this one in the enjoyment category of Princess Bride. I can't speak this highly of much that came out of the 80s!

Finally on DVD - I love this film
I have just got this dvd from america and haven't seen it for about 7 or 8 years. I had forgot how much I love it. The dvd is an american import but it will play on both my philips dvd player and my philips bluray player both are region 2 players, I must state it does not play on dvd recorders / rewriters. It is a warner archive and as such the quality is not as great as a normal dvd but saying that it is a lot better than the video quality that I was expecting. I can't say that I notice it really its only if you want to be really picky about the quality. It only took a little over a week to arrive and it was well worth the money. It is very unlikely that it will ever be released other that as a Warner Brothers archive dvd, so if you want it get that version as it place on most standard dvd players, the only thing I am aware of is that it will not play on a computer or laptop.SPOILER ALERTIt doesn't give much of a disciption on the info of this dvd.Kelly McGillis plays Annie a newborn soul, Timothy Hutton plays Mike who dies saving a family from drowning. They meet and fall in love in heaven. Annie is then sent to earth to be born, Mike follows to try and find her even though they have no memory of each other.

An enjoyable idea and sweetly told. It is due a remake with a bit more edge as it has a bit of the 80's naive halo about it.
