Godzilla Vs. The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (GODZILLA VS POWER RANGER II)

A fun, fitting, action-packed crossover.
For years, pop culture fans imagined and drew fanart of a crossover between Godzilla and the Power Rangers. Well, this year, that dream became a reality via comic book courtesy of IDW: "Godzilla vs Mighty Morphin Power Rangers". Does it live up to the concept and hype? In a word: Yes!The Power Rangers fight giant monsters on a regular basis, so having Godzilla meet them is a perfect fit. It's a straightforward crossover with almost nonstop action throughout; tons of monsters from both franchises, lots of mayhem, and sprinkles of fan service. Interestingly, the action gets a tad violent with a small amount of blood and several people dying, so this is not entirely kids' stuff. I enjoy the clash of styles, especially with the villains; Rita and her minions are outlandish and boastful while the Xilians are straight-faced and serious. The comic also keeps you on your toes with shifting alliances, adding new dynamics to keep things from getting too boring. Of course, seeing Godzilla fight/interact with the Rangers is the highlight and both are portrayed as they should (classic heroism vs force of nature), just the right combo of cheese and high stakes, plus the team learning some nuance from their kaiju counterpart. I also dig the artwork, colorful yet gritty and visually looking animated. My one criticism is that certain dialogue exchanges get repetitive after a while. All in all, "Godzilla vs Mighty Morphin Power Rangers" is a comic that knows what it is and just has fun with the concept. It delivers on abundant action and shifting dynamics in a visually appealing way. Definitely one of the better comic crossovers I've seen. Two scaly thumbs up!

More fun than I expected.
I originally wrote this off as a cash grab before reading it, but it was a lot of fun. You could really see the love for both franchises.

Not bad bu not great.
It's exactly what it says it is, a Godzilla/Power Rangers crossover. Nothing groundbreaking, but not terrible for what it is.

Action packed!
I really enjoyed this series. Great power rangers and godzilla stories. Neither godzilla nor the rangers outshine each other with monster sized brawls throughout the entirety of the story.

‘Power’-ful crossover!
His last crossover in comic books since 1995’s ‘Godzilla vs. Hero Zero’ from Dark Horse, Godzilla meets up with the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers in this X-over event from 2022. Having been thrown into another Earth in an alternate universe, the Power Rangers find it inhabited with a giant dinosaur-like creature named Godzilla. What’s more, the Rangers’ longtime nemesis - Rita - has an army of monsters of her own, including her partnership with the dreaded Xillians, who have tried repeatedly in conquering the Earth in their dimension. Can even the combined might of the Power Rangers & Godzilla be enough to overcome this threat & save the day? With artwork done by the team who brought us the ‘Batman / Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ crossovers.

Exactly what you'd expect
This crossover delivers exactly what you expect; a no-holds-barred monster battle with no brakes. Don't expect deep drama or rich character development, but what you do get is thrilling action and exciting visuals. If you've ever banged monster toys together while making sound effects (and who hasn't?), you'll love this.

Great kaiju romp
This is a fight was joked about since we first saw the Dragonzord. Great story, familiar faces, amazing team up. Not a single disappointment here. Worth the read.
