My Kitchen Scale Just Got a Sidekick and My Baking is Grateful!
My relationship with kitchen scales has been a journey. I started with a basic digital one, which was fine for measuring flour by the cup (converted to grams, because I was trying to be fancy). Then I got into baking, real baking, the kind that requires measuring yeast in amounts smaller than a sneeze. My old scale just laughed at me, displaying a defiant "0g" until I'd dumped in enough yeast to leaven a small car. Clearly, I needed more precision. And maybe a little more capacity for when I decided to make a truly epic batch of cookies. That's when the KitchenAid Dual Platform Digital Kitchen and Food Scale entered my life. I saw the two platforms and immediately thought, "It's a scale with a buddy!" The large platform handles the heavy lifting – flour, sugar, that giant bowl of dough. It's got capacity for days (up to 11 pounds!). But the real star, for my baking needs anyway, is the smaller, precision platform. This thing measures in tiny increments, perfect for those microscopic amounts of yeast, salt, or spices that make all the difference. It's like having a regular scale and a jeweler's scale had a very useful baby. Using them together is where the magic happens. The dual display shows both weights at the same time. I can be measuring flour for the main dough on the big side and simultaneously portioning out a minuscule amount of fancy sea salt for a topping on the small side. I feel like a mad scientist in a culinary lab, meticulously weighing out ingredients with pinpoint accuracy. My cat is probably wondering why I'm suddenly so focused on small piles of white powder. The tare function works flawlessly on both platforms, which is essential for adding multiple ingredients to the same bowl without doing complicated math (my brain is not a calculator, especially before tea). The scale itself is sleek and doesn't take up too much counter space, which is a minor miracle in my crowded kitchen. If you're tired of your scale ignoring tiny, crucial ingredients, if you need capacity for larger batches but precision for delicate measurements, and you enjoy the feeling of having a highly capable kitchen sidekick, this dual platform scale is fantastic. It's well-made, incredibly accurate, and has made my baking (and general cooking) much more consistent and less prone to accidental ingredient avalanches. My baked goods are happier, and so is my sanity. I'm thoroughly impressed with this two-in-one wonder.

This is a great scale — well worth the money
I recently purchased the KitchenAid KQ909 dual-platform digital kitchen and food scale, and my wife was very pleased. For the price, it offers excellent value. It measures accurately and quickly, with a large platform for heavier ingredients and a fine-precision platform for smaller, delicate measurements. The controls are intuitive, and one of the biggest advantages is the use of real physical buttons instead of touch controls — a huge improvement when your hands are wet or messy. Another great feature is that it runs on regular AAA batteries. The display is large, bright, and easy to read. Overall, it's a reliable, well-designed kitchen tool that’s both practical and pleasant to use. My wife is happy to have it on the counter, and I’m genuinely impressed with this two-in-one design. Highly recommended for anyone who wants an accurate, durable, and user-friendly kitchen scale.

Very hardy
I ordered this one because I thought I killed my last one while making sourdough bread. This scale is my husband's pride and joy and one of the only things in the kitchen that he claims as his for making pizza. Imagine my panic when the scale stopped working. I dropped water on it and didn't realize how much went into the scale. I kept the scale in the cabinet while crossing my fingers that this one arrived before my husband got the urge to start the pizza dough process again. Thankfully, it did. Expect the other scale started working again after fully drying out, I guess on the inside. I have decided to keep this scale as an emergency backup in case I do indeed actually fully kill the scale in the future.

Barely decent until it stops working after a few cleaning sprays
When I got this kitchen scale 3 years ago, it seem "decent" to weight food. The main platform seemed to have accuracy issues where the food fluctuated between 5-8 grams of a 500 grams item ( bowl + food). You could test this by just raising the bowl and putting it back on the scale and it will have 5-8 grams of error each time. This issue was only compensated by the smaller scale platform accuracy which was overall better. Only issue with the smaller scale platform is seems to have a weight limit ~700g, plus space is definitely narrower for a big bowl. Also there is the power off issue where it would not power off if it not stable on the counter, which is a dumb idea because that prevented me to power off the device while it was on my hand. Also this would become an issue later when it stop working and can't be power off unless the batteries are take out. And then there is the batteries. Who designs an electronic device that takes 3 batteries?! It should always be in pairs (2, 4, 6, 8 ...) because most rechargeable batteries charges will only charge them in pairs. I know this is probably a small issue but this annoyed me every time I needed to recharge my lithium batteries. Now the main issue after 3 years of usage: it is nowhere water resistant. There were a few times where I needed to clean it by spraying multi purpose cleaner (small spray quantity as I know is not water proof) due to spilling a few drops of raw meat water while weighting. Now it says always UNSE/ERR on the display which it wasn't unstable because it was stable on my counter top. I could also see that inside the display there is water and humidity which indicates that water has entered through the display cavity. While I know it says is no water proof, I would definitely think that it should resist more than a few cleaning sprays because at the end of the day you might be weighing raw food. Definitely this scale is not worth its price.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Precision Perfection – The Best Scale I’ve Ever Owned!
If I could give this **6 stars**, I would. 🌟 This is hands-down the **GOAT of kitchen scales**. The **dual platform** feature is genius — I can measure both large and micro quantities without needing a second scale. Whether I’m weighing flour for baking or seasoning for precision recipes, this scale handles it all effortlessly. ⚖️🍽️ It’s more **expensive** than basic models, but you’re paying for **exceptional accuracy**, sleek **features**, and the reliability of **KitchenAid**. The **scale size** is compact but big enough to handle most mixing bowls, and it has a sturdy feel without being heavy. It’s also super **easy to use** — intuitive controls, quick response time, and easy-to-read display. Only wish? That it was **rechargeable** instead of battery-powered. 🔋 But even with that, this scale is worth every penny.

Struggles to 0 out; decent value
Overall, this fits my needs. It's two size scales in one, which I love, so I'd definitely say the value is there. However, I found that after using this consistently for two weeks, the scale is already struggling to "0" out. The build also feels a little flimsy; I would have expected something a little sturdier from KitchenAid. Overall, it's a solid 4 stars; it gets the job done, the scale is fairly accurate within a few grams, and it's got the bonus of two scales in one. However, it could be improved with better quality materials, which would most likely yield better accuracy.

Usable and multi-faceted scale.
Great scale. Personally use this for making drinks and the smaller right one is able to go down to a .01 degree of error on the gram side. The other side has been great for making meals and recipes. It is stored easily due to how thin it is, and after having it for half a year I have not needed to charge it despite daily usage. Great value for what seems like a simple utility.

Very nice scale!
Serves its purpose. Dual scale is very useful. Easy to use and calibrate. Stores easily as it's light and thin. Helps me portion food better.
