A quick, easy and relatively inexpensive way of automating your blinds
Whether you've just received your first smart device and now you already want to upgrade everything, or you've been installing smart devices in and around your place for a while, this 'smart' blind/curtain roller is a good budget upgrade to basically any setup. After a bit of faffing around (and a little bit of playing around), the motor functions perfectly fine for the price; it has enough grunt to manipulate a fairly heavy blackout blind, and after setting up heights/min/max, it stops exactly where I set it, which is great!Whilst the roller does provide hands-free opperation and control via the app, it does not connect to any smart assistant setups itself, rendering it significantly less 'smart' than it could've been if it had a basic Wi-Fi chip inside (like smart, LED strips do).

Does not have light sensor or timer
The app does not have a timer or light sensor functionality. The reviews here that say it does must either be lying or based on an old app which is no longer available. I've spent a few hours this evening trying to set it up, using several different apps and hubs. Please don't waste your time so my time wasted was not in vain. Just get a Wi-Fi version.

Not very smart
It works fine if you wanted manual control but don't expect automation without buying a hub or whatever. The thing itself is good quality and is very easy to install however its just not smart enough, the Bluetooth is barely stable and no ability to connect to alexa. If this was wifi and compatible with alexa and the others it could be very good.

Doesn’t work!
Almost never connects with your phone so I always end up manually closing or opening the blinds (even if I get super close, almost never connects!). Waste of money

Love it
The media could not be loaded. I love this smart device. My parents struggle to use the pull cord now on the blinds and this motor does it with easy. Sounds a bit clunky because I had to use a larger gear because of a bit of damage to the draw cord but it was easy overcome by picking an appropriate attachment for the unit. It was super easy to program on the buttons on the device itself but even easier and more fun to do using the tuya app. The little slider to open and close the blinds is just cool lol. Program in a top and buttom max and you simply click open or close. This also allows you to control with Alexa so can be programmed with voice or set on a timer. Only needs charged once every 6 months with the attached power cord as there is a solar panel to keep the battery topped up. Could do with a little cable management to be included to keep the solar panel cable tucked out the way but other than that this thing is brilliant. Our blinds are very tight to move and the motor does it with ease. Great value for money and a must for any smart home smart device lover.

In a smart world, this is dumb
So here we have a motorised blind opener. It attached to our, easy to operate vertical blinds, easily enough. They include several options to allow attachment of the drive gear to the blind cord required. Setting up the limits was ok following the instructions (you do actually need to read them here). It sounds a bit clunky in operation but it works. Our main hope for this was the word 'Smart' in the description. We were hoping to be able to open and close the blinds whilst we were away from home - you can't. It uses Bluetooth to connect to the app. So, you have an app on your phone that can open and close the blinds from within Bluetooth range only. Fantastic. I mean, I may as well just press the button on the device. A dedicated remote would have been a better option.Does the app attach to the Google Home gateway? Yes, it does. Does it operate this device? No it doesn't. And unless you're in Bluetooth range, that's going to be pointless if they ever offer it anyway. So for me, this is just a motor with the ability to open and close the blinds locally. In a race, it takes approximately ten times longer than doing it manually. Would I be tempted to buy one for £65? Never. It's far too limited in what it can do.

Feeling deflated
I was really excited to put this on the blinds. I never looked to see how it worked but I know now that it needs a chain mechanism and not a pole like I have. My pole twists to open the blinds and this attaches to the chain. Then there's a solar panel to keep it charged up or you can use the supplied 3 pin mains adapter. It looks like a great gadget to have for someone like me who can't get up to open and close the blinds. Just check your blind control first because this is a lot of money to get it wrong.
