Complete Book of Embroidery--Perfect Resource
This hardback book on hand embroidery is perfect for me as I do my projects. It gives large, color pictures of how to do the stitches and it also has sentences stating what do do from one step to another. It is concise and easy to follow. I love all of the comprehensive stitches included in this book, as well. It has been perfect as I learn some new stitches, but would also be excellent for the basic beginner. They include enough information and large pictures for the new learner to have success. I am happy I came across this excellent hand embroidery resource.

exact copy of dmc book of embroidery
I ordered three of these for our group then I ordered three of dmc book of embroidery. we knew they were by the same author but we thought that it would at least be a different book. it wasn't it was all the same exactly to a T. the only thing that was changed was the cover and title of the book. I had never had that happen before. its a great reference tool but do not order the other book and expect something different

Comprehensive and Easy to Understand
Having really only been familiar with satin stitches and french knots in basic pre-packaged embroidery kits, I wanted to learn more about free hand embroidery, so I started at the local library and checked out LOTS of embroidery books. This was by far the best book out there - it follows a logical sequence, grouping stitches into family types filled with detailed pictures and examples. I returned it to the library and quickly purchased it. I'm still learning, but I have been able to create some basic embellishments for my crafts and feel pretty comfortable choosing which stitches will bring the effect I want to the design. Highly recommend.

I love this book
I am a new embroiderer and have no other embroidery books but I still love this book.I love picking it up, reading it, the pictures. There is a ton of information in here...it will take me a long time (if ever) to use it all. Examples of both traditional and modern projects. The layout is beautiful, the front is beautiful...overall very very inspiring.I am having a great time learning embroidery, planning my first project using this book. I love it.

written in easy to understand language and no frills
Everything you could ever want to know about embroidery. I keep this book on my coffee table and refer to it constantly. As with most Reader's Digest books, it's well organized, written in easy to understand language and no frills. The drawings and instructions are really clear and easy to understand....a perfect primer and instructional manual for beginners and experts alike.

I am disappointed.
I ordered this item a while ago and I noticed that a page is missing from the embroidery book. Page 47&48 has been torn out. This is important because it is the beginning of the basic stitches - straight stitch. I am disappointed.

Brings Embroidery To Life!
Excellent for all levels of embroidery. I needed a refresher course after a 45yr hiatus and this taught me all I needed and made me excited to learn even more... of which it also has many expert levels in abundance.Fabulous value for money.
