Great rod and reel for the price , good quality on a budget.
I wanted a rod for my wife , she loves to fish, but doesn't fish often.I have quite a fee Daiwa rod and reels , some are 7-10 years old and they still perform flawlessly . I was pretty confident that this combo would be perfect for her and it did not dissapoint ! The rod had a nice action , its sensitive and with the reel it balances quite well. The reel is really good for the price, she has caught some really nice Trout , largemouth and smallmouth Bass , as sell as Crappie and perch..the rod is a really good package and would make a great combo for those that are not really serious and dont fish day after day , makes a great rod to leave at the cottage , loan a friend or just as a trustworthy backup. 6-8lb mono or better yet flourocarbon line would be a good match on this reel for a broad range of target species.

Nice setup for a beginner... sort of
This is a great setup for beginner. Even though I am not really a beginner but haven't fish for a while after moving to a lake. with all my setup at my bro's house, I need something easy to mess around with the fishes in the lake. I didn't want to invest too much and this is a great setup for the price. The rod is sensitive to catch large mouth bass and it's strong enough to yank them out of the docks. The reel is not bad but could be a bit more smoother. For the prices, nothing to complain about.Summary:- great for beginner- lightweight and easy to cast- excellent workmanship- great value- it's a keeper

Good setup for the price
Good setup for the price. If I could change one thing, I would have Amazon wrap it in bubble wrap, as one eye was bent in the shipping box.

Took three years of regular fishing to snap it.
I've used this combo regularly for three years as my go-to rig. I'm usually going after bass, but have caught quite a bit of other fish on it, all the way up to around 5lbs.I've had zero issues with the reel and the rod itself was comfortable and allowed for decent finesse fishing. That said, it also did well with top waters. That's why it became my go-to rig.Today, the rod tip finally snapped off while I was fishing and forgot a net. Don't worry... I still landed the fish.I highly recommend this combo if you're looking for something to go fish with on the regular. I'll likely purchase another.

Excellent fiberglass combo
Outstanding sensitivity for a fiberglass rod and casts extremely well. I usually pair with a Daiwa Laguna LT reel in the 2500 series. The SweepFire reel it ships with is perfectly serviceable, but the rod really shines with a higher quality reel.Try old school rods for old school lures, you'll be very surprised how much more action you'll get from the lure.

Decent, cheap combo.
It’s a decent rod, the action is nice, rod and reel look great. My only issue is the slip joint where the two pieces come together is very loose. On a strong cast the top blank could easily slide out and go out with my lure. I remedied that problem with a single layer of black electrical tape. Can’t separate it for storage but it’s been holding up well. The rod works great for little stocked pond catches.

Crazy value for a good setup
I needed a cheap set of fishing poles for a family trip with a bunch of beginners who wanted to fish. I have a bunch of nice rods, but didn’t want any of them to get damaged, so I picked up a couple of these (6.6 foot and 7 foot). They performed better than I expected. Light weight, light tip, good action, and a pretty good reel. Beginners were catching bass, trout and crappie on these. If I had known about these beforehand, I probably could’ve saved hundreds of dollars on my other setups. Great buy for the price and if you just want a few poles that you don’t have to worry about.

love this combo
For the price, this is an awesome combo. 6' is just the right length when I go fishing in tight spaces, and it's light weight and easy to carry. I put 6lb mono on the reel and it casts very well. Only used it twice, and I have caught trout, white bass and large mouth. Dropped it on rocks, in mud and water, no issue at all. Great value for the price.
