Figure skating go to
I wear these over my leggings they are not bulky and provide a gel cushion just around the knee area. I have fell on towards my knees a couple times and did not feel a thing thanks to these. The gel is flexible and does not impede movement. I actually have them in small and medium sizes. I was in the overlapping area for sizing, when wearing thinner leggings and where the fabric is more slippery I wear the small since in this case the medium may wiggle down a little, not terrible but enough were I have to adjust the med a couple times in a 2 hour session. The small I do not have to adjust. If your in between sizes and wear thinner pants maybe go for the small, if your going to be wearing them over pants vs leggings then maybe go for the mediums. Neither size has impacted or restricted any movement and they do not look bulky.Use them for inline skating, figure skating in all seasons outdoor and indoor.Easy to clean just throw them in the washer or hand wash and line dry.

Never practice without them
If i don’t have these in my bag, i guess im skipping practice. It’s lightweight, versatile, durable, and so comfortable. Sometimes I use it as a knee brace on bad days. Very stretchy and I can always rely on its high performance to protect my knees. I swear, if I never invested in these, I would’ve quit skating by now!

Best Knee Pads
20-somthing adult using these for ice skating. They are fantastic!They:-are low profile and stay in place underneath leggings,-provide mild knee support,-stretch with ice skating movement,-are soft and cushioned with gel.I love that they are gel pads and not foam. Foam flattens out quickly. These gel pads seem to be very resilient. Been skating with them for a couple months. Love them so far!

Great protection that doesn't stand out too much
We bought these knee pads for our teenage daughter with cerebral palsy. She occasionally falls over due to balance issues which causes her to get cut knees. We used to use inline skating kneepads, but they are made of rigid plastic and our daughter wouldn't wear them because they were cumbersome, and it was embarrassing to wear them because they were so big. However, the SKATINGSPIRIT kneepads are flexible, easy to wear, protect her knees (no cut knees since she's been wearing them), and aren't causing her embarrassment when she wears them. We love these kneepads so much, we bought her a second pair, and bought the elbow pads.

Eh
The size isn't terrible. There's plenty of stretch to fit around larger thighs, but they do not stay in place very well. They constantly rolled up despite being larger size and having that little band of silicone to stop it. The squishy bit in the middle was comfortable against the skin and good for kneeling down a few times. But if you were to twist on your knee or use it to dance, the squishy stuff inside the pad of the knee pad squishes through the fabric and ruins the purpose of the knee pad. It becomes flat and weirdly sticky.

Flexible enough, but gel pad kind of small
As an adult skater, the gel pad part is kind of small for my knee cap, so I still get bruises on the side of my knees sometimes. But it's flexible and convenient to put on, not restrictive to my movement (compared with the hard plastic ones), and can stay under my leggings in a good shape without looking too bulky. Satisfied with the purchase in general

Best knee pads for contact improvisation
I am using these knee pads for practicing contact improvisation, and they are the best among the variety of knee pads I've tried, though not without a flaw. The knee protection consists of a ring of silicon-like gel with a blob in the middle. The gel is enclosed into a single round pouch of fabric. The ring-like structure enables great performance in terms of clinging to the knee in the most adverse cases, such as falling or rolling on the knees, while keeping the knee pad surprisingly sleek. Much better and sleeker when compared to knee pads with a single uniform blob of gel.Sometimes, not often (twice per 4-month period of using once a week), the ring of gel would get folded and tangled in its pouch, which is difficult and time consuming to detangle. This only happened to me when I carelessly stuffed these knee pads into a full bag, never when wearing the knee pads. This once ruined my experience since I could not detangle the gel in time. Later I found that detangling gel is easier when the knee pad is wet. This design flaw can be fixed by stitching the pouch in few spots inside the gel ring as far as possible from the gel itself.

Finally I found one pair of knee pads that my children would love to wear
My children are speed skaters (10 yr and 7 yr old). To protect them from getting hurt I have bought lots of knee pads of different types and brands, but they never liked any of them. They said the hard covered knee pads affect their knee bending and can stay in position, while other soft ones are not durable and protective. But when they tried on these Skatingspirit knee pads, they said they are so comfortable and the silicon inside keeps them in position all the time. They are not bulky, durable and protective. I just wish they come in a kids size so my daughter who has thin legs can wear them too (she loves the knee pads but they are a bit too big on her legs).
