I've been using my UE WONDERBOOM for about a month now, and I have no complaints! I was introduced to UE at a pool party last summer, and I fell in love with how the BOOM 2 speakers could be paired to maximize sound. I live in a 1BR apartment and I'm never called upon to supply the hardware at parties :) so I didn't *need* the ability to connect more than two speakers. I knew the WONDERBOOM would more than meet my present and future needs when the time came. The time came about a month ago (March 2018), when the freebie Bluetooth speaker I won at work finally died. I opted for the Phantom Black color for my first one (my next will undoubtedly be Cashmere Pink). I didn't need much from my speaker: compact, lightweight, waterproof, and the ability to control my playlist without my phone. This speaker delivered on all counts, AND it sounds amazing! The sound is clear, with none of the "tinny" reverberations that often accompany low-quality gear. I listen to it for about an hour a day, daily. I use it in the shower, BUT on the lip of the tub, behind the liner. I've charged it twice since I purchased it--and honestly, both times were because the charger was nearby. It's a great little speaker that lets me blast Pharrell and Anderson .Paak with perfect clarity. I highly recommend it!

For a Bluetooth portable speaker, this device really exceeded my expectations. First off, for it’s compact size the sound quality is “booming”, sorry couldn’t help myself. But honestly, the bass is loud enough to power a darty, or in 2020, turn your room into a mini Coachella - even more so if you link multiple of these bad boys together. The highs are crisp and clear, definitely give kudos to UE for sound quality. Next, the battery life is amazing. I believe it’s advertised for 10 hours, but for some reason it feels like mine lasts a whole 24. It’s also super durable and completely waterproof, so it’s safe from your friend that turns into Aquaman when he hops in the pool and splashes everyone. Lastly, for about the price of a video game ($65) you’re getting your money’s worth. Wrapping up, if you’re looking for a portable Bluetooth speaker with awesome sound quality, battery life, durability, and value this is it P.S. this is an honest review. Just hope this speaker can provide you some good vibes during these difficult times :)

** Update 3/7/2018 ** The speakers small amount of scratchiness has dissipated. I think the break-in period meant some stiffness in the woofers perhaps. Not sure exactly. But I've used it nearly every day since I purchased it and it sounds great. A coworker bought a UE Boom 2 (the long cylindrical cousin of this squat chunky speaker) And we were surprised at the difference. The Boom 2 has no bass at all. It's like they sucked out any Lows. In comparison, the Wonderboom sounds wayyy better. Adding a star for that. Still annoying how the on/off sounds are loud. Also found that it takes forever to charge. **Original Review** I got sucked into their ad campaign I admit. They make the product look cool. GREAT marketing team. The formfactor of their products is very cool and pleasing as well. Very well made, has a good solid feel and texture to it. I'm a collector of cheap bluetooth speakers it seems. Bigger brick style ones, smaller spherical ones etc. The $20-$50 range usually. They either stop working or have very poor sound that's very one directional. I figured it was time to step up to a little pricier/nicer one. I didn't quite want to go with Harmon Kardon so this WonderBoom was a good pricepoint! I do like the multiple woofers (I think there are two inside) so it's not exactly "360" as they say, but it's definitely better than what I've had in the past. The color is perfect lol (black) which I like as it's understated but the colorful ones look cool as well! My gripes and why I took two stars off: The power-on and power-off sounds are always loud. If you have the speaker playing at a low volume, and you want to shut it off, well, you get a big sound as you shut it off. It would be better if the sound effects were either mutable or abided by the sound level chosen for speaker output. The other more prevalent and important issue is the sound. There's certainly a bass quality in the speaker, which is nice; but the highs sound quite scratchy. I do stream 192kbps from spotify sources that have it. The audio isn't wildly scratchy but if listening for it it's noticeable. I'm not sure if that's due in part to the waterproofing layer around the enclosure or if that's just how it comes through regardless. As I wrote this the noticeability became more and more of an annoyance....So this went from a 4 to a 3 star review pretty quickly. In my opinion for $85 which is a bit of a entry level premium price, I'd expect richer, warmer sound with no amount of scratchiness. I'll use it a few more days and decide if it's worth returning and diving into a harmon kardon speaker after all.

I bought this because one of the things we enjoy is to leave our phone on the shore at the lake and have our music floating with us. I not only wanted it for the waterproof factor but the long range of the bluetooth. Once it arrived I sat it on my back porch and took off walking away from it. I stopped walking when I felt like I had gone far enough and my husband said it never stopped playing! The 100 feet of range is accurate if, like me, this is important to you. The sound quality is really good for what I paid. I like that you can hear it from any angle or position. I won't know about the waterproof feature until I am at the lake this coming weekend but for what I paid I couldn't be happier! The size is perfect, it's a little shorter than a soda can, but a little wider than a soda can, if that helps you with the size. Very nice product with the features I was looking for!

Great portable speaker, lost my old one and had to get another one! Very portable and great battery life, pairs very easily too. Apparently it’s waterproof and floats, but I’d rather not throw it in the hot tub. Love the sound too it’s perfect for me. Only thing I would change is the hanging loop it’s a little small for me. Otherwise it’s perfect! Update: I’ve had this speaker for well over a year now and it’s still just as great as the day I opened it, the battery life is still amazing. Also durable between me and my daughter Its definitely been dropped a couple times and it’s totally fine.

The big sound you get out of the UE Wonderboom belies its diminutive size. I listen to lots of classical music while travelling and it suits my purpose perfectly. Light enough to tote around, with a large enough sound to fill a hotel room. Great value for money.
