Joshua and the City

Knowing Jesus
I like all the Joshua books and have read most of them. There's both a simplicity and a complexity to them, but the way Fr Girzone writes about Him, you can begin to see people through the eyes of the Savior and appreciate the human life He created - faults and all. There are some catholic issues in all the books, but they can be overlooked in the grander scheme of things by those of us not catholic. They are mostly written for all people, and are well worth the read.

Masterful!
This is a great book! I have read 3 other books from the author (Joshua, Joshua and the Children, Joshua in the Holy Land) and I have not been disappointed yet. This again is a riveting page-turner. There are many issues that are presented in the story such as violence, poverty, and drugs that are exquisitely handled by the author through the title character, Joshua. The book reinforces the importance of compassion, love, faith, and high moral standards towards others and presents situations which may cloud these traits. The author has the style and expertise that really personifies Jesus, Himself, interacting with the characters in the book. But he also teaches us through commonplace occurrences how to bring a sense of peace to our everyday lives. Masterfully done!

A story filled with hope
Part of a series. A man named Joshua comes to the city in time for the year 2000, Y2K. He is a calming, insightful presence. A wonderful story to remind us good is all around us.

You will meet Joshua and his travels
I absolutely love this author. He takes you right into the story and makes you feel like you are there. He has a series of Joshua's books and each one that I have read are very good. It is about the travels of Joshua, who is the son of God. It shows how he helps the people he runs into. His books are not the normal type of religious books, but it is in the background of the story.

A “Pollyanna” type story.
I felt the book was written at a 4th grade level and was too sweet for my taste.

Wonderful faith filled book
I love the Joshua series. There message is wonderful. Some say the are predictable but they are so intertwined with a wonderful message and sometimes characters from other books--its like a continuation. The procession of the message of God. If your searching its a great place to start.

A Must-Read - Life-Changing !!
Words simply fail. Father Joseph has what can only be described as a brilliant and God-Given talent for penning fictional yet incredibly believable tales of Jesus's life on this earth as He walked among us. Our small weekly bible group started reading these books some time back and I can honestly say it has since become the cornerstone of our discussions. These "stories" of Joshua has changed each one of us, deepened our relationships with God, healed our tunnel vision on so many aspects of life, attitudes, beliefs, doctrine, relationships, etc, etc - the list is honestly endless. If you do not read this series of books, nothing bad will happen to you. Your life will just be so much poorer and empty. God Bless you, Father Joseph. We are very, very blessed to have your obedience to our beloved Holy Spirit to have penned these books.Lisa Benedix, Grand Lake, NB Canada
