Great Product, Great Value!
This is a great product! It is sharpening very well. I feel it "grab" when I run the knife across it, much moreso than the two previous sharpeners I had. The handle is a beautiful medium dark wood color. So much nicer looking than the standard black handles. This sharpener is a great value for the money. It's fairly heavy so it feels like a good quality. The length is perfect.

Just OK, but excellent seller communication after the sale. A good company to buy from.
Little, but not much improvement over my other expensive hones; not bad enough to return.

Gives a great edge!
I’ve been needing one of these for quite a while and I’m so happy with this purchase! I used a whetstone on my knives first, since they haven’t been sharpened in over 3 years 🫢. After restoring their edge, I’ve been keeping them fine tuned by using this guy frequently. I’m so happy with the results! The wood handle is nice. The finish on the wood isn’t super thick, so I treat it every once in a while with a little oil which keeps it nice and sleek. Would definitely buy again!

Great honing steel
Great feel and does the honing just as I was taught working at the downtown Sheraton many years ago.

This 10" honing rod from TUO has become one of those tools I didn’t realize I needed until I started using it regularly. Instead of waiting until my knives were dull enough to drag through food, I can give them a few quick passes on this rod and they feel crisp again. It doesn’t replace a sharpener, but for touch-ups before slicing vegetables or prepping meat, it makes a noticeable difference and extends the time of use before I need to pull out my whetstone block. The wood handle is comfortable and feels balanced in hand, without being slippery, even when my hands are damp. I’ve used it on everything from a hefty cleaver to a small paring knife, and the length makes it practical across the board. The high-carbon steel seems solid, and the magnetic tip is a thoughtful detail since it actually picks up the fine metal dust so I’m not wiping down my counter afterwards. Maintenance is basically a rinse and dry, so it doesn’t feel like a fussy tool. A small note: it’s a bit heavier than I other sharpening rods I’ve used, so if you’re new to honing rods, it might get a bit tiring to handle. But the upside is that it’s much more durable and sharpens much faster. That said, it feels like a professional-grade tool backed by a strong warranty. For anyone who cooks often, it’s one of those investments that makes day-to-day prep a lot smoother.

This came at the perfect time, just when I was about to buy a new set of knives. After using it, I realized I did not need new ones since this tool easily restored their sharpness. It feels sturdy, well balanced, and comfortable to hold, while the pakkawood handle gives it an elegant look. The sound while honing was a little uncomfortable at first, but you get used to it. It would be nice if a short video tutorial were included to show the correct technique for beginners. Pros: restores knife edges effectively, stylish design, comfortable grip, good price. Cons: sound takes getting used to, no video guide included.

This rod does exactly what it claims. It keeps my knives aligned and cuts down on the need for constant full sharpening. The steel feels strong, doesn’t rust, and the handle is comfortable with a secure grip. The length is perfect—easy to use without feeling awkward. Nicely made overall and works well for daily honing.

This is a Honing steel and not a knife sharpener (it is a tool for realigning a knife's blade to maintain its sharpness). It may give the effect of knife being sharp again because of the realigning of the blade, but it does not replace the need to eventually require a knife sharpener). I got this to replace my 25yr old honing steel which has paid it's dues over the years, and was time to retire it. This honing steel seems to be very well made and works very well. The wooden handle is elegant, and feel good and well balanced when you hold it. Came packaged really nice also, and suitable for a gift.

This is well made, comfy, solid, and makes it easy to quickly hone your blades . . . which if you spend any time in the kitchen, should be a regular habit. A dull blade is a dangerous blade. With the right technique (just need a little practice), you will be an expert in no time and have a safe set of knives at the ready. I have one problem with this . . . actually with me . . . you know how some people really, really cringe when someone drags their fingernails across a blackboard? the sound makes them shrivel up almost? well, that sound never bothered me . . . but the sound of a blade being run across a sharpening steel has exactly the same effect on me . . . this is taking a little getting used to . . . my knives are happy though . . . I think. Enough of my phobia . . . the steel is beautifully finished, and has a good heft . . . easy to use, and with it's pakkawood handle, looks great. Comes in an attractive box, so would make a wonderful gift for someone you know who spends time in the kitchen. Price is really good for the quality. I like it very much . . . I just need some ear plugs though ;-)
