One: Simple One-Pan Wonders: [American Measurements]

A wonderful cook book

We purchased this because Jamie Oliver is just a great chef and love his shows and watching him regularly on social media. But we started making pasta because of the pasta queen. We use this book regularly and have made a ton of fresh pasta for these recipes.

This is my 3rd cookbook from Jamie. I enjoy his simple style and ingredients. Love that there are lots of photos.

I must confess that in my limited free time I watch cooking shows for inspiration and shortly thereafter find myself in the kitchen trying my best to create picture worthy flavor filled meals. Last week I watched Jamie Oliver’s companion video series for this book on BritBox via Amazon. It was FANTASTIC! After one episode, I went out to the kitchen to make dinner and made my own version of one of Jamie’s one-pan pasta dishes (using a dish I cooked the chicken thighs in to then cook carrots, celery, garlic, chicken broth and later adding pasta). What I ended up with was one of my most flavor filled meal that I’ve ever made. Thank you Jamie! After that, I ordered ONE by Jamie Oliver. Tonight I’m 30+ pages in and already found 20+ meals whos’ ingredients I’ve added to my shopping list. The only cookbook that I’ve made every meal listed was The 4 Hour Chef by Tim Ferris. Now, I’m making my shopping list to make several of Jamie’s Simple One-Pan Wonders and I’m blown away by how many of the dishes I want to make. I’ve watched Jamie on TV for years and time after time he delivers but now.. clean-up time will be a lot less. Pros: - Jamie ID’s all the ingredients for each recipe. - Beautiful pictures of the end product (Start with the end in mind…) - Most one-pan meals are a short time commitment offering a HUGE reward for a small amount of time! - Ingredients can be found a most well stocked grocery stores (I’ve ordered a few items via Amazon that weren’t available locally) Cons: - The font size of the text could have been a little larger! - You may have trouble deciding which meal to make first. Summary: - This is one of my happies purchases of 2023! I highly recommend it and it’s inspired me to start an herb garden so I know I’ll have fresh herbs when inspiration strikes. - This book will inspire you! Update: 2023 01 25 Just made Jamies' Christmas Pasta (see photo) - This was wonderful (I didn't cut out the stars... next time). Thank you Jamie Oliver cleanup was a breeze!

I enjoying meal planning and cooking new recipes every week and was interested in this book for quick, simple meals. I found these recipes easy to prepare and liked that it didn’t require a lot of ingredients or messing up many pans. The cons for this book are some of the recipes are quite bland so I had to add a little more to them. Some of the recipes call for UK ingredients that aren’t easily available in my US grocery stores. I figured out substitutes but folks that like to be exact with their recipe prep might find that frustrating.

Just came today so haven't tried any recipes. Thos is perfect for a8ngles and couples as most recipes are for no more rhan 4 servings. Each recipe has a wonderful full page photo opposite. Another welc8me surprise...it has the macros as well as sugar, dalt and fat. So if youre counting any of those, this makes it easy. It's also in US measures. There are some ingredients Ive never heard of in the south but Google offers plenty of alternatives that shpuld be comparable.

This is a biased review as I have so many of Olivers books. This particular book has come in handy for one skillet/pan/pot meals. As usual the recipes easy to follow and if needed modify.

I like recipes where you can do the whole thing in one pan. There’s a good variety and easy to follow directions. I also like recipes with readily available ingredients.

The book is fantastic and it gets 5 stars. However, it got damaged in the delivery two times. When I first ordered it, the envelope came all damaged and ripped on the corners. I requested to exchange it for another one, and the second one came in a similar condition. I have ordered books from Amazon before and never had this issue. I suspect that it is because the book gets shipped from the UK to Netherlands and that journey is too tough, or maybe there is too many stops on the way, for the parcel to arrive in a good shape. In the end I will sadly return both books and order it somewhere else. I believe Amazon could protect shipped items better.

Pas le meilleur Jamie Oliver. Quelques recettes intéressantes mais la partie avec les pâtes fait boullir le sang italien de mes ancêtres dans mes veines. Ces recettes 'tout en un' sont vraiment un truc anglo-saxon à la mode sur FB/Instagram pas vraiment gastronomique. Je suis pourtant un fan de J.O. de la première heure (22 bouquins sur 24!) mais je dois dire que le précédent et celui-ci m'ont quelque peu déçu
