Flawless
Wow. Seriously wow. This book is flawless.I love reading ARCs of up and coming authors, but it is refreshing to read a novel by an author who has worked hard at their art and who can deliver simple perfection. This is one of those books and Tara Sivec is one of those authors. Her Chocolate Lovers series was simply the funniest series of books I have ever read. This book surpasses those novels, not in humour, but in clarity and emotion. It was simply fabulous.Finnley has spend the last 17 years, putting up with and forgiving her piece of s*** husband. But when one more act pushes her over the edge she makes the decision to take her life back and leaves him. On the first night officially being separated from the s***bag she bumps into the first man to ever break her heart. Collin, her high school boyfriend, who broke up with her in a letter passed on by his best friend DJ. Over the years she has thought of Colin, and even admits to a little cyber stalking him, but she always stayed loyal to Jordan, her husband. When they see each other for the first time in 17 years, the powerful connection that they once had is still there. But Finnlay is scared. She is scared to trust her feelings, she is scared to move on so quickly after Jordan and she is scared to finally face up to her dreams.Collin admits that breaking up with Lee after DJ convinces him to, one night when they are drunk, is the single most stupid idea he has even made in his life. And watching her move on so quickly with Jordan was like salt it he wound. But he also has been keeping track of her via facebook, and when they serendipitously meet again he takes his chance to get her out of his system. But he gets more than he bargained for, he thought one night with her would be enough to get over his desire for her, but instead it ignites the passion. He simply adores her and will stop at nothing to have her away from her idiot husband and in his bed.It was so lovely reading about how their naive teenage relationship that was PG rated evolves into insatiable passion for each other. They both come a long way and realise that they had to separate to become the people that they are today, who are ready for forever. Collin brings out the passion and desire in Finnlay to be a better person, where as Jordan just spent so long crushing her dreams. Their relationship was beautiful, and I have to admit I enjoyed every second of this book. I loved the secondary characters, Finnlays bestie is awesome, just the type of best friend a girl could want! Has her back through think and thin. Even though DJ convinces Collin to break up with Finnlay he is still an interesting guy, that I would not mind reading more about! I feel there is an untold story there!!!So in short, pick up a copy of this book and do yourself a favour. This is what contemporary romance is all about, take not people!!!! If you have not read any of Tara Sivec’s books then wake up and get on board!!!!!

3.5 stars
I find it hard to believe that the hero thought of the heroine‘every single day’ since they split 17yrs ago while in high school, but that’s okay. I also found it a little weird reading that he’d had threesomes (yes, plural). But overall the writing flowed well and the characters and the storyline were decent.

Red Hot ♨️
I think the title is appropriate in more ways than one. Yes she's been burnt in so many ways. There's always your first love & then there's another who captures your heart. The latter broke Finnleys numerous times. You can only take so much.A chance meeting reunites a first love. Collin became a fireman & comes to her rescue even saving her life. Well it is hot but not just from the fire. The analogies are well done. I liked it, even with all the drama.
