Milkotein Dog Treat, Light Bar

I was looking for something that would hold up to a French Bulldog who loves to chew. I always watch closely when I give a new treat just in case he destroys it. AND that is exactly what happened to this. The reviews I read made it seem like it would last but had I not take it it wouldnt have made it 10 minutes. I only took it because of the way it was splintering and I was concerned he would cut his mouth or swallow the sharp pieces. SO for me and my sweet beast this was a bust, on to the next one.

This is the first chew toy/treat that she's really liked to the point where she settled down to chew for a while. It seems to last very well, she gnawed on it quite a bit and it's still pretty much intact. It's going to be a while before she manages to chew and eat the whole thing.It's a compressed, hard bar - it reminds me of a bar of soap, but much harder. I ordered the Light bars, and one was broken in half in the tube but for me, that was just the right size. She's not a big dog - just 20 lbs.I don't feed my pets grain, so I love that these are gluten- and grain-free treats that are healthy.

My dogs were able to crack these chews within minutes. They are miniature dachshunds, so I thought the size would be sufficient. Turns out I was wrong! They broke everything apart into sharp pieces so I had to take it away from them. They probably would have been ok if I got the very large, thick bars, but I don't want to risk it. They did love the smell and wanted to chew them right away though.

I didn't hate it, but my dog didn't care for it at all....

Our dog is a rapid chewer, actually, he is a rabid eater. He goes through chew treats so quickly that we sometimes don't even get to see him enjoy them! This chew is much different. He is taking his time getting through it. He seems to like it, even though it is a "lite" version of the treat. The only problem is that there are shards of it everywhere. Instead of pieces getting soft and him eating them, they seem to be splintering off of the bar. Not sure how to address that. Still, he likes it and its still around, and I actually get to see him enjoying it. It's a winner.
