Falling Skies: Season 5 [Blu-ray]

Okay, I can't tell you how sad I was that this series was ending. Or how happy I was that they got a chance to do an actual ending to the story-line. In some ways it felt a little rushed and in other ways the pacing of the whole series as far as I was concerned was fast so why should the last season be any different?I won't give anything away but I just have to say that every story has to have a protagonist and an antagonist. More often than not multiples of each and the character Pope has done his fair share or being both during the run of Falling Skies. My kudos to Colin Cunningham for playing the part so well - showing everything from a surprising kindness to the somewhat whack job that Pope was.Everyone has their opinion, personally I absolutely loved the series and the twists and turns it took throughout until the end. Thanks for a great 5 seasons (and is it my imagination or do most series end their run at season 5??).

Amazes me there are any good reviews. I am a bit embarrassed to say I watched this whole show (I watch while working out so am a captive audience...my excuse). From start to finish, this show felt like it was written by a 6th grader who just roughed it out in a last-minute hurry. The acting is terrible, but, to be fair, they didn't have much to work with. The costume budget seemed decent but the aliens were strange, parts looked cool, parts seemed dug out of the trash of a B-movie set. If you like bad acting, unimaginative writing, characters that completely change their personalities episode to episode in order to fit random plot-lines... oh, and endless forced cliche's, I have got a great show for you!

If you like sci-fi or Noah Wylie or intrigue and action, you should like Falling Skies. The fifth season arrived on time and in new condition. It's fun to collect the entire series and then have a marathon, but with this series I couldn't wait as I'd seen a few episode on TV. It was good to see it all wrapped up.

Product arrived in excellent condition and all discs worked perfectly. Fun series to watch.

Would give the seller and DVD a 5 star,but only a 3 out of 5 stars for the DVD, it's worth watching , but not worth owning.

Its good but there is NO continuity to the episodes. Buyer be were.

Last season of the series, but if you don't have every season you will want them after watching this one. Highly recommend for those who enjoy humans vs aliens.

Super great Sci-Fi series. Have the complete TV series. Watch complete series at least once a year.

Well 'Falling Skies' comes to an end, and to be honest they were lucky to get 52 episodes, but then again when Spielberg is associated with the show what do you expect. This show has been all over the place from the beginning. Dreadful, brilliant and everything in-between! Season 4 was a fiasco so it was one hell of a surprise that Season 5 was as good as it was. The only problem for me was the dreadful ending, but then US TV shows never do endings well!. Basically 'Falling Skies' was okay while it lasted, but it didn't have much competition. Bring back Battlestar, Stargate, V and Firefly. After all Sci-fi is big again with success of Star Wars, and that's what started the trend back in 1977. This show however won't really be remembered after 10 years!

End of the saga which has in turn gripped, puzzled, irritated and greatly pleased. From its start focus has been on history teacher Tom Mason and his sons, they amongst the remnants of mankind after devastating alien attacks. What hope for them as they strive to save the planet? How many of them will die in the attempt?Like its predecessors, Season 5 contains tension, much action, treachery, carnage and great special effects.To be honest, like its predecessors, it also contains creaking contrivances, incredible escapes, bewildering character changes and much that is plain daft.Like so many other fans, I did not mind in the least. From Episode 1, the series had gripped imagination - the final season (seen in just two sessions) immensely satisfying.Noah Wyle impresses as Tom, priority to protect his family as well as the planet. Amongst outstanding characters are the always unpredictable John Pope (this time round to become rather extreme) and alien Cochise (the actor very funny in bonuses).Ten episodes of just over forty minutes. Extra features include emotional goodbyes (even from a skitter!) and almost fifty minutes at the 2015 WonderCon session where those playing Hal, Maggie, Pope and Cochise give their reactions to the series.Happily, unlike certain other shows, there has been no sudden axe leaving so much unexplained. Instead everything is rather neatly rounded off. Yes, some will laugh at Tom's eventual confrontation with the chief alien responsible for all the mayhem; others may feel the final scene cloying and corny. As ever, though, addicts will take all in their stride. Whatever any shortcomings en route, "Falling Skies" richly entertained.

Sometimes a series simply goes on for too many seasons. Falling Skies has much to like - good characters, good actors, an interesting if unoriginal plot but after a while became a tedious re-hash with a predictable, corny end.

From a purchase perspective we have no complaints. Delivery and condition were excellent.However, as a lover of the first 4 seasons of falling skies we were disappointed with the storyline of the last series. We won't give any spoilers, but will agree that the comments from others on budget cuts on this season are obvious. Fewer aliens and fewer action special effects. We also felt the plot was weaker and much less enjoyable than the first 4 seasons.

Great series and the dvd arrived in new condition and sealed as stated, well packaged and not a single mark or dent.
