Works good despite reviews
Works great despite bad reviews. I put a regulator on the gun for depth control. Definitely necessary. But the regulator/tip combo saves a lot of time and sweat

Works Great
I was a little hesitant after reading some of the reviews about how it doesn't center very well and needs modifications. I have had zero issues with it. I have put up 800 sq ft of siding for a separate garage, and I have had no issues with it. I am very glad I purchased because it has saved me a TON of time compared to nailing by hand.

Needed modificaton, but fine after that
I understand a lot of the negative comments as I found this adapter to be poorly shaped for siding. The idea was right, but the size and depth / shape of the device makes for far too many missed shots. I had a conversation with it and my die grinder and was able to get it to be very reliable. I did remove a fair amount of material to get a nice step that fit nicely around the siding locking rib, but there is still plenty of material left, and it does not seem to have compromised its structure at all. I tested on some scrap siding by nailing it to some scrap wood until I had it right. Pretty much only missed when I got sloppy after that . With a better notch to fit the siding, all i had to do was place the guide peg in the nail slot of the siding and make sure I held the gun fairly straight. If you are not prepared to modify this adapter and do some practice shots you may not be happy with the results. I have done a lot of construction, but I am not a pro at siding, so this was way faster for me compared to using a hammer. One plus was while on a ladder I could nail with one hand, and do it as far away as I could possibly reach. As I can only get better at using this, I feel I would stay with using it. I gave it 4 stars simply because it can be made to work well, as opposed to no other adapter option out there for the dewalt roofing gun that I already owned.

Quick shipping
Just vinyl sided over an asbestos sided house, ordered $200 adapter else where, perhaps order didn’t process? So I quickly ordered this for my new Bostich, and it came quickly! This is a nosing replacement and had to use some force to exchange it. After the first day I took my grinder with me to remove metal from it to hug the siding better. Still a little finicky, this siding was cheap and thin and unhemmed on top of nail slot, it broke thu at times in 70-80 degree weather (Nail connecting barbs perhaps). I didn’t adjust air pressure, setting 2 on gun worked well. Also installed gun hook. Still learning it, with hemmed edge siding maybe 7/8 success rate? Also used magnetic air palm nailer for tight spots and some channels, worked well.

Spend the additional money and buy a Reed EZ Nailer!
This product does not work. It does not center the nail in the slot. I destroyed so much siding trying to learn this attachment. I ended up returning this product and went with a REED Ez nailer attachment. Well worth the extra money to be able to have to ease of putting up siding with a roofing nailer.

Great product
I wish I would’ve bought these along time ago. They make the job easier and a better quality than not using it and they save time and when you’re in business, saving time is I wish I would’ve bought these along time ago. Meh.
This was a wasted purchase IMHO. For any vinyl trim pieces you can't get the gun square enough for a true shot into the nail slot. When nailing actual siding there seemed to be no rhyme or reason nailing. The nail would center punch the slot, punch the slot, nail thru the siding, punch the slot, nail thru the siding. Ended up just nailing it all by hand. Should have paid attention to reviews elsewhere saying same.

Not Reliable
I bought this with the matching roofing nailer and box of nails as a "siding kit" to put up some vinyl siding. I am a home repair volunteer and have worked on some difficult, poorly constructed homes. I am comfortable with a lot of tools, and have used this same model of nailer to put down plenty of roofing - I know its quirks. My conclusion as to its suitability as a *vinyl* siding nailer by adding this adapter is that by its design, it is limited at best. The real problem is, that with a nail with such a large head (by comparison to other nailers) it is impossible to get the point of the nail to reliably center. Invariably it will shift a bit to the left, right, top, or bottom. Left or right, no big deal as it is only a fraction and still in the slot, but up or down by a fraction means the nail is out of the slot and into the nailing tab. Additionally, since the nailer was designed to put the nail head flush with the surface, it is difficult to get the head to stop above the surface - something that is important in putting up vinyl. Even using the depth setting and practicing with different air pressures did not consistently solve the problem. Nearly every nail needed additional attention for either where it landed, or how deep it went. I am keeping the nailer because I can use it for roofing and do enough of it to justify having it for that. The adapter is in the trash can. THE ASSOCIATED NAILER IS A PERFECTLY GOOD ROOFING NAILER, BUT DO NOT BUY THIS ADAPTER FOR VINYL SIDING WORK.
