A girl seems to have the power to hold back rain & storms, but it eventually exhausts her. A boy who admires her helps her to survive.

I wanted to watch Weathering With You since it came out. I finally got to watch it. The animation is almost as rich as Studio Ghibli and the plot has some fantastical elements of it as well. But the story is grounded in the darker side of Tokyo.The protagonist is homeless and lives in a net café near the Kabukicho gate that marks the entry to the red light district that is part of Shinjuku ward. In this respect the anime provides a realistic portrayal of a 'freeter' - an under-employed young person.

I love this film SO MUCH.I've been a fan of the director's work ever since I saw Your Name (I have never cried so much at a film before or since) and I really like the joyous theme of hope in this one. Your Name was sad, but it had a happy ending, whereas this one was just a joy from start to finish!The plot centres on the love story of Hina, a girl who has the mysterious ability to manipulate the weather, and Hadoka, a runaway teen who has come to Tokyo in search of a better life. Hadoka starts working for an occult magazine investigating the mysterious, and eventually bumps into Hina and they become friends. When Hina shows him her ability to control the weather, taking him to an isolated rooftop so she can clear the rain, the two hatch a plan to make money out of her strange ability, by advertising that she can make the sun shine. People, naturally, are skeptical at first, but once her miraculous talent becomes apparent, Hina becomes dubbed 'The Sunshine Girl' and the offers come flooding in.I won't go into more details, you should really watch it for yourself, as frankly, the animation is beautiful, as is the story and the characters. It has just the right touch of fantasy, but has a foot grounded firmly in the real world, which I really liked, and the depiction of Hina controlling the weather are jaw droopingly cool.All in all 10 out of 10, go watch it!! :D

ive watched enough of his movies to know what to expect. it may not be as good as kimi no na wa (your name) but its still beautiful and the radwimps soundtrack is great as always

A beautiful movie that looks even more stunning on bluray.Unless your a heavy collector don't buy into that 4k edition bs they also made for this movie.It makes no difference, its just lines and sketches not actual footage with deep details so buy this and save yourself the money.It looks beautiful.

About the product:It is a nice set, the discs are good and additional material are engaging. No complaints about it.About the movie:After watching it, my initial impression was that it was not as good as "Your Name", the previous movie from director Makoto Shinkai. Most of the reviews do that comparison and even place the movie as really bad, but I felt that those reviews were simplistic and based on comparisons.But I found two reviews that changed my mind, putting the context into perspective. One pointed to the book the main character was reading, giving strong clues to his behaviour; it also took into consideration their age and background, which made the character's actions a lot more reasonable. Another review showed insights into Japanese culture that rendered a more complex and believable frame, with a richness that distinguish bad from good movies.After reading these two reviews, and watching the movie again, I concluded that it is a good movie per se. I have a preference for "Your Name", as most people seem to have, but I will not dismiss "Weathering With You" as a bad copycat of the former, it has content if you look to it with an open mind.

Endlich bin ich mal dazu gekommen, mir nach und nach die japanischen Meisterwerke anzusehen. Der Film ist aus dem Jahr 2019 und bedeutet übersetzt eigentlich Kind des Wetters.Der 16jährige Hodaka Morishima wohnt mit seinen Eltern auf einer Insel. Eines Tages ist er einem Sonnenstrahl hinterhergefahren bis es nicht mehr ging und ist dann mit einer Fähre ausgerissen und nach Tokio gereist. Auf dem Schiff lernt er Keisuke Suga kennen. Dieser rettet ihm das Leben, nachdem er droht von Deck gespült zu werden. Als einziger ist er nämlich unvorsichtig aufs Deck gerannt während sich die übrigen Passagiere vor dem einsetzenden orkanartigen Sturm und Platzregen in Sicherheit gebracht haben.Hodaka findet heraus, dass Tokio ziemlich teuer ist. Schnell geht ihm das Geld zu Neige und als Ausreißer findet er dank fehlender Papiere (die ihn ja als Minderjährigen identifizieren würden) keinen Job. Er hungert, findet aber in Hina Amano, einer Angestellten im Burgerladen eine freundliche junge Frau, die ihm auf Kosten des Hauses einen Burger eines Abends spendiert nachdem er dort drei Tage am Stück Suppe bestellt hatte. Obwohl er selbst kaum genug hat, nimmt er alsbald eine Katze auf. Zudem findet er eine Knarre, die er aber für ein Spielzeug hält. Die Nachrichten, dass ein Waffenschmugglerring ausgehoben wurde und es sich um eine echte Waffe handelt bekommt er gar nicht mit.Da bietet sich ihm die Gelegenheit bei einer schrägen Okkultismus-Redaktion unterzukommen. Der Chef, der sich ausgerechnet als Suga herausstellt, der ihn auf dem Schiff gerettet hat, glaubt zwar selbst nicht an den Scheiß, den er da verbreitet, aber es verkauft sich an gutgläubige Seelen. Seine attraktive und durchgeknallte Mitbewohnerin Natsumi, die Hodaka aufgrund ihrer großen T...alente sofort ins Auge fällt hält er zunächst für Sugas Geliebte. Natsumi glaubt jedoch an das was sie schreibt und verfolgt die Interviews mit den offensichtlich Durchgeknallten mit großer Hingabe.Seit seiner Ankunft regnet es in Tokio ohne Unterlass. Bei einem seiner Aufträge fällt ihm eines Tages wieder Hina ins Auge, die von zwei zwielichtigen Typen angebaggert wird. Es ist offensichtlich, dass die beiden ihr einen Job im Rotlichtmillieu anbieten wollen. Als Hodaka dazwischen geht und eine auf die Fresse bekommt, zückt er die Knarre. Beide können verschwinden. Es stellt sich heraus, dass Hina nunmehr ihren Job verloren hat aber sie eine ganz besondere Gabe hat. Wenn sie betet bricht die Sonne durch. Eine lukrative Geschäftsidee, die allerdings ihren Tribut fordert von dem beide nichts ahnen...In Deutschland wurde der Film natürlich als Fabel über den Klimawandel propagiert, was vollkommener Unsinn ist. Es zeigt, dass diejenigen die japanische Kultur überhaupt nicht verstehen. Hier wird nicht den Menschen Schuld an dem Dauerregen gegeben, sondern es gibt auch eine Erklärung im Film. Ich will hier nicht spoilern, aber es wird in einer Szene von einem Weisen erklärt, der auch auf eine über 800 Jahre alte Malerei verweist und die Wetteraufzeichnungen als viel zu kurze Periode darlegt um überhaupt zu wissen worüber man redet. Alleine diese Sequenz zeigt auf, dass der Film mit dem Klimawandel nichts zu tun hat. Als Politikum kann man das gerne hineinschwurbeln. Das ändert aber auch nichts an der Tatsache, dass dies auch den Entschluss der beiden Figuren im Ergebnis zeigt, die sich bewusst für etwas anderes entscheiden als FfF-Anhängern vielleicht lieb wäre, was wiederum für Irritationen dort gesorgt hat. Diesen "Bruch", der überhaupt keiner ist, zeigt auf, wie sehr da mal wieder einer rausgehauen worden ist ohne großartig nachzudenken. Der Film ist eine Lovestory mit phantastischem Hintergrund. Naturverbundenheit, japanische Mythen und der Glaube an die Götter, die den Menschen entweder gewogen sind oder nicht. Das spielt hier immer wieder mit ein.Der Film kommt zwar nur langsam in Fahrt, vermag aber durch die Charaktere zu überzeugen. Die "wirkliche Welt" ist glaubwürdig dargestellt, viele Nebencharaktere liebenswürdig mit Leben gefüllt, insbesondere auch die beiden Klischeebullen oder der Aufreißerbruder, der zig "Weiber" an jedem Finger hat was seine Umwelt schon mal irritiert. Ein paar gute Lacher hat die Story, auch wenn sie ansonsten ernsthaft gehalten ist. Und natürlich ist der Zeichenstil ohne jeden Zweifel erhaben und durchaus als Liebeserklärung an Tokio zu sehen.

Ce serait bien de dire que c'est une édition italienne sans bande son française ni sous-titres français.
