They are lovely. It was reassuring to note that they are lead-free (you'd think that would be obvious, but many traditional glazes are toxic).They were packed well, and arrived in perfect condition. The pictures do not do them justice. The patterns are beautiful.They'd make a lovely gift, as long as you recognize that the packaging is strictly functional: a thick cardboard box, and sheets of foam padding to separate the dishes to prevent chips and breakage.While they are absolutely perfect for their intended use, I bought them to use as cat-food dishes, because the low edges help prevent whisker fatigue. They hold about four spoonfuls of canned cat-food.
