Excellent!
An incredible piece of kit for securely mounting a phone, camera, lights... Anything within reason! The clamp is very secure but rubberised so it doesn't damage surfaces, the arm feels very well made and providing you get the angles right, is very secure, with no movement. I bought this with a phone clamp to use for stop motion. Works perfectly

Works well, good value
I bought this to mount a Logitech C920 webcam on my monitor. Normally, the webcam would sit on the top of the monitor and stay in place with its rubberised foot; but it can't, because its home has been taken over by a monitor light whose balance is so delicate (and profile so rounded) that no webcam may find a place to rest thereupon. So instead, this arm attaches to the top of the monitor stand upright, and allows the webcam to peep over the top of the monitor light. Hello. It was slightly smaller than expected, but just long enough to suit its purpose, with enough adjustment to allow the webcam to gaze at me head on and centered.I'd not heard of SmallRig before, but they appear to have a good reputation for quality and reliability, and my experience does nothing to contradict that.

A Rock-Solid, Versatile Mounting Solution for Small-Medium Items
I recently got my hands on the SmallRig Magic Arm, and I'm thoroughly impressed with its build quality and versatility. The all-metal construction feels premium, with the black aluminum body and silver accents giving it a professional look. What really stands out is the robust locking mechanism - just one turn of the center wingnut allows you to adjust both ball joints simultaneously, and when tightened, it holds position rock solid. The super clamp is equally well-designed, featuring rubber padding to protect surfaces and an impressive grip range of 15-40mm. I particularly appreciate the dual 1/4" and 3/8" thread options, making it compatible with virtually any camera accessory. The 1.5kg payload capacity has been more than sufficient for mounting my monitors, lights, and microphones, though it's important to note this limit if you're planning to use heavier equipment. Most importantly, it's easy to use.One thing that sets this magic arm apart is its thoughtful design details. The knurled surfaces on the wingnut provide excellent grip, and the ball joints move smoothly when loosened but lock firmly in place when tightened. While the price might be higher than some alternatives, the build quality and reliability make it a worthwhile investment for anyone serious about their camera setup. After using it for a while, I can say SmallRig has maintained their reputation for quality with this product.Note: the lighting box is a separate product.

Useful addition to the video kit
Had this for a few weeks, so early review of the item. I was looking for something to add an extra ability to include lighting or camera's at different angles. I've used this with my elgato master large clamp. So far it works well. I'm not sure I've leave the DSLR on it when I'm not with the kit. It's mostly metal, plastic handle to tighten the action, medal clamp to attach to a pole.Good to add in extra items to your rig without breaking the bank. I'm sure I'll get use out if it.

Not Anti-Twist
I'm giving this the same review as I gave for another "magic arm"Articulating arms (proper name) are great for positioning cameras, phones, monitors and all kinds of things from a solid support. The arm, once tightened, will not give at all. However, that's not the case for the attached items as they're attached by the 1/4 x 20 screw threads at each end. And anything mounted leftward will unscrew due to gravity, simply because screw threads are right-hand. So that's what will let you down, and if you then tighten the screw threads even more, something's going to break. There are more expensive articulating arms that have anti-rotation pins and thumbscrews you can tighten using a hex key as a "tommy bar" but they're three or four times more expensive. I'm giving this three stars for the rigidity of the arm itself, but it loses two stars because the screws will only remain tight if the weight is clockwise.
