This worked on a rust bucket car when the cheap tool didn't.
This tool did a very tough job. My car is up in age and is at that point when even simple stuff is challenging due to rust/age and adds time and complexity to the job. I first tried a sub $20 clamp style tool, which just slipped. I could have tightened the clamp more and gave it another try (and I did but not again a 3rd time), but due to the off centered nature of that clamp style tool I felt it was better ponying up the money for a tool that I can turn from the centerline instead of offset. I'm glad I didn't try to go further with the clamp style, and I waited for this one. It had the size I needed and made a good connection (have to lock it in place and pull back when turning). It tool quite a bit of force with a cheater bar but the tie rod end came out. I feel being able to turn it in line with the center of rotation helped a lot, and the length of it put it in a good position to turn. I can't see the clamp style working with the amount of force I needed, but who knows. On the other hand it is quite a bit up in price compared to other similar styles which I may have tried if it was not for the clamp style not working, but I do feel this one is quality and it is solid.

Well built kit.
Seems like a good kit. Came completely together in a hard case and has a lot of car adapters. Well built.

A little tip to help the next person.
First I want to start off I don't do reviews but I felt this time it needed to be done only to hopefully pass on useful information to someone who's going to use the tool. I stumbled upon the best way to use this tool, once you put the wrench on the inner tie rod you'll want to reach in and hold the back side of it in place while you place the tube over the inner tie rod get the two notches lined up slide the tube into place with The Notches lined up you can now grab the little keeper tab on the tube slide it over which locks the wrench in the tube whatever you do do not push forward always keep slight resistance pulled back to you which keeps the wrench tightly in place on the tube. The first one I did I didn't realize what was going on but it would not take much to push forward and the wrench would fall off and you would have to take it completely apart and get it all set up again that being said the second one I did I kept constant tension pulled towards me and the tool held perfectly in place nice and tight I hope that helps people the tool worked great once I figured that out.

Quality issue
I own many OEM brand tools over the years, and this is the first one I've been disappointed with and returned to spend more money on a tool that works. Issue is that the crows feet insert you put on the inner tie rod when mounted inside the neon green handle/tool (once assembled together on the inner tie rod) is NOT sized correctly to come in contact (or even close) so that when you put this together and begin to try and take off your inner tie rod the crows feet expands and does nothing but slip or round off the flats on the nut portion of your inner tie rod. If the crows feet were close to the inner opening of the handle so that it could not flex/expand, this tool would work great. In fact the replacement Lisle tool I purchased is manufactured to the right clearance/specification and tool my inner tie rod off on the first try. Same design between the two with the locking mechanism (except Lisle tool doesn't have this quality issue - it is at the proper spacing between the inner wall and the crows feet) and the OEM tool has a longer handle (which I actually prefer). I originally purchased this OEM tool to shore up not having the right size crows feet in my first tool of this type I bought at harbor freight years ago (it still works great, just doesn't have as many size options for crows feet inserts). You can take a chance that maybe I just got a bad one, but I think I'd stay away from this one and spend the extra $30 on a Lisle name brand one as it's quality is there for sure! Hope this helps you.

Sturdiness, Easy to Use, Cheaper/similar quality than Lisle Tools
Bought this work remove and replace the inner tie rods on my 12’ Chevy Sonic. Those that say this tool is cheap feeling and that it isn’t quality are very wrong. I was surprised at how heavy the tool felt and the assortment of different crowfeet. I’m glad I bought this over the $160~ Lisle Inner Tie rood tool that I needed. Also, remember to throughly read the description. It states all the different sizes this includes and how long the tool is. This is for cars, smaller suvs and light trucks. This probably won’t work for say a Chevy Tahoe or Suburban or like a Ford F-250 or anything like that. KNOW THE SIZE OF CROWFOOT YOU NEED BEFORE YOU PURCHASE.

I don't often buy specialized, single-purpose tools. However, for the replacement of inner tie-rods, a special tool is needed. I bought this kit because my truck required an odd-sized wrench size which didn't come with all of the kits. This kit seems to have just about every size for tie-rods. It made the removal of my tie rod extremely easy! It also allows for the proper installation of the new tie rod as there is a 1/2in drive opening on the end for the use of a torque wrench to ensure you torque your new inner rod to the correct specs.
