Q: Can i use this for an old scratch mark on my face

silicone gel does not much impact on hyper- or hypo-pigmentation. Its main effect is on the dynamic of collagen production in the area of hypertrophic scar and keloid. If the old scratch mark turned into keloid or hypertrophic scar, then silicone gel may be of help. It takes more than few weeks to see improvement and result may vary in each patient.

Q: can you use an ointment on the scar before placing the silicone patch?

Presence of ointment between Silicone Gel Sheet for Scar and scar may interfere with the adherence of Silicone Gel Sheet for Scar to scar and skin around it. It may also diminish the effect of silicone in minimizing size of scar. Since Silicone Gel Sheet for Scar is to be placed on wound not more than 12 hours a day, ointment can be placed on scar during rest of 12 hours.

Q: Can you cut this for smaller scars?

Yes, I always cut mine in half. You could pretty much cut them to any size.
