Amazing kit for beginners! Highly recommended!
I just got into sewing and needed just about EVERYTHING. This starter kit saved my life. Most of the items are high quality, at least as far as I know- I'm no expert in this field. The measuring tape could have perhaps been less "paper-y". I've been using almost everything in the kit except one of the pens and the sewing gauge. The one thing I did miss was fabric chalk and I wish that the cutting mat was twice the size- there's not a lot you can cut on a small mat without it being hassle. Almost everything was in cute matching colors and came in a box that you can continue using to store your stuff. Very happy!

Great kit
I’m just starting to sew and this kit has everything you need and the price is great. If you bought everything separately it would cost you more than double this price. The ladies that I’m learning with were quite impressed.

Nearly Perfect for Beginners
I bought this as a novice, to get all the tools I needed to begin sewing. I'm still using most of the items that came in the set, but the rotary cutter is garbage. If it was better I'd be leaving 5 stars because I'm pleased with everything else in the set. When you're using the rotary cutter it unscrews itself and the blade falls off. So I'm rolling the cutter across something cutting it and I have to constantly tighten the screw holding the blade on WHILE I'm cutting. For someone looking to get started, I think this set is almost perfect. I'd still recommend it, but you definitely need to purchase a rotary cutter separately.

Perfect start
I am just getting into sewing and didn't want to spend a ton of money just getting into it. I love this kit! It gave me everything I need! Quality is great and the color is so fun!

Perfect starter kit
I am just beginning sewing and after looking at several sets I bought this one and it didn't disappoint! The blades were all very sharp and I've used all of the products in the set and they all work very well! I think this is the go to kit for beginners but is also just as good for seasoned sewers! I will say the pins aren't the best quality but they'll do, the magnetic pin holder is amazing!

I got great price for the kit
Awesome that is color matching, same brand and awesome tools to go with my newest sewing machine.Way better price than anywhere else including their own company. It’s not knock off. Thank you

Great starter kit
Got this and my machine with no knowledge of sewing. This kit was awesome because it had 90% of everything I needed. Even things that I didn't know I would need right at the beginning. My first project was a simple quilt and this kit was great. You'll want to upgrade quickly to a larger cutting may and rulers for large stuff, but the one that came with this kit I use the most still.

Decent set but I expected better quality
Ok soooo... this is going to be long but if you are now starting out with sewing and you are looking at your options this will interest you.First some context:I recently started a sewing class and only ever tried to sew using a sewing machine just over a month ago and as I really enjoyed it I decided to invest in some essentials to make my work easier and better.I like to seriously over-read and over-research stuff which is why I had spent quite a few hours debating getting this over getting the components separately from "tried and true" brands. In the end I looked up the company that seems to be fairly new and associated with Bernina (I also liked their machines and I'll be in the market for one of those soon ) so I hoped that they were trying to prove themselves to be quality manufacturers.A few factors made me get this kit:1. There was just something exciting about opening a box of goodies2. In my calculations for about 18 dollars more I got a few little extras to try that I would not have bought otherwise (as it would have cost a lot more) so that seemed like a good opportunity to try some of the gadgets before going all out (like getting a 100 clips etc)3. I kinda wanted to see the quality of the things before I potentially buy a eversewn machine4. The sizes of the shears was bigger than the ones I was looking to buy otherwiseSo here are my thoughts on this setThe good:1. Overall useful starter kit2. Love the magnetic pincushion it is heavy and sturdy, has a nice little storage compartment below and comes with 25 pins (aside of the 100 glass head ones that are separate in the pack). Also love the groove as it does help to take a pin without getting stuck. Unlike some others that I have seen it arranges all the pins in the same direction so they are not scattered all over the cushion. The magnetic thing is great as I have small kids and I can not afford to have pins left around and sticking them one by one into the traditional cushion while sewing can be a bit of a pain. With this I can just throw them in the general direction and voila!2. The scissors feel great in hand - lightweight but substantial and compared to my current scissors (cheap from local sewing shop) they cut far better with every millimetre of the blade.3. The thread nipper cuts well and I find it surprisingly useful (one of those things I was initially not going to get because why can't you just use your scissors duh! But this little guy just makes it so much easier to get close and parallel to the fabric to cut the threads)4. The pins work better than the pins I had before (cheap generic thingies that come with any sewing kit) and so far have not bended5. I'm glad I have the few clips they actually came in handy when I wanted to estimate the fit of a dress I was making somehow just quicker (and less prickly to put on) then pinning something you don't intend to stitch as yet.5. Marker and pen seem to work fine but didn't try removing the markings yet.6. So far the seam gauge works fine and the plastic part doesn't move on its own. The one I received is a little different from the one pictured and that's great as it has better contrast as well as notches for each inch. I'll post some pics. Not so good:1. Cutting mat came warped and so far despite spending the night under my very old very heavy sewing machine did not straighten out. Photo taken after the attempt to straighten it. The mat also has a very strong smell - bothered me when I took it out of the box but it has gotten much less noticeable on the second day.2. The blade of the shears is short compared to their overall size. I'll post a photo but it's the same size as the blade on my current scissors that are an inch shorter3. The labels on the shears and the rotary cutter and out of place and that just doesn't give me a lot of confidence in the quality. You can see the label on the shears pealing off on the photo.4. I'm so disappointed with the quality of the measuring tape that's thin and stiff (it's worse than a cheap Chinese one I bought in my local sewing shop - total bummer I took a photo of the two side by side).5. The box of the kit claims that the magnetic pincushion cones with 60 pins?! What's up with that? (Took a pic of the box and the packaging of the pincushion to point out the discrepancy).6. The clips don't have measurements on them like the clover ones not a deal-breaker but just thought that was standard.7. And just an environmental note: not sure why every item needs individual plastic packaging? So all in all it's a decent set to get you started but I was kinda expecting better quality. I guess time will tell how it holds up in the long run.
