No algae, no chemical testing for me!
This product works great for us, no algae. I use along with Pool RX and Burn out 73 it keeps everything under control. Arizona summers can be a struggle against algae otherwise. We have been pool owners for 6yrs. We had no idea what we were doing originally. Struggled about 2yrs. We had issues with algae, first green than mustard. L----- pool supply just kept telling us to do this and that. The amout and cost of products just kept getting bigger. So we found another pool store and were told to get a good algaecide, clean everything and shock the heck out of it. We looked at tons of algaecides, read reviews and my husband finally found this algaecide on Amazon. We added the initial dosage, 6oz for our 15,000 gallon pool than burshed down the pool and ran the pool pump for 24hrs. The next day we sprayed the pool filters clean and soaked them in a large tub of water with a half bag of Burn out 73, removed vacuum, hoses and leaf basket scrubbed them clean and soaked in the Burn out 73 shock water also for about 6hrs. Sprayed everything off again and hooked it all back up. Added 6 bags of the burnout 73 to the pool and ran the pump another 24hrs. The next day we put a pool RX in the skimmer basket and returned to maintenance. It killed the algae and we haven't struggled since. We prep our pool for winter in Fall( Oct.) I clean the filters and add 4 bags of shock and the initial 6oz of this algaecide 1 day apart at night, run pump 4 to 6 hrs each night, add chlorine tabs as needed that's it. For Summer start up (end of Apr./ beginning of May) I clean filters and at night add 4 bags of shock and brush the pool, next day add the the initial 6oz of this algaecide, next day a new Pool RX in the skimmer basket and 4 chlorine tabs in float. Running pool pump 8hrs each night in the summer. I have had no algae issues for the last 4yrs. with this maintenance combination during the summer: 4 chlorine tabs in float, 2 bags of shock and 3oz of algaecide. I do this every other week 1 day apart between shock and algaecide, and of course 1 pool rx at beginning of summer in skimmer basket. I don't even do chemical testing anymore. I have clear, clean, blue pool. I use BioGuard burnout 73 shock. Which has 73= % of Calcium Hypochlorite in each bag. Pool filters need cleaning at least 2 more times each yr.( so usually Oct.,Jan., Apr.,July). This is for a 15,000 gallon pebble tek in ground pool. It might sound like a lot of work, but once you get the algae under control the maintenance is easy. We don't struggle, we're not throwing money away and we're not adding extra unnecessary chemicals.

Excellent for the pool

Contains copper
My mistake ordering without making sure which product I was buying. Meant to buy the '60' as copper stains my pool. But, if you use algaecide with copper, this is an excellent price and good stuff (my neighbor took it off my hands and it works well for him)

Highly recommend.
This is the best algecide that we have used. We have a 24 foot round above ground pool. Zero algae growth with weekly recommended dosage . We also use for spring startup. Highly recommend.

Great product, follow instructions.
This is a great product and is available at local pool supplies at a higher price. That said, don't use the "If the right amount is good, way more is better" method of application. As some reviews have noted this product contains copper. Copper is a good fungicide but it's oxidation products can stain. I have used this, and similar products for many years. I have not had trouble with staining if used in proper amounts. However, to get the proper ratio, you need to have a reasonable knowledge of how many gallons your pool contains. Once you have determined that, you can mix it properly. A calculated capacity has always been close enough for me, and I have never had to measure the amount it takes to fill the pool.I am happy with the product, and purchase it annually.

Works Exactly Like it says it will
I have been using the chemicals from our local pool supply store for years. And they are always expensive and never work very well. I usually end up battling with my pool by mid summer to keep it clear from algae. I used this product one time and my pool was crystal clear the next day! And it’s half the price of my local shop. And, it’s still clear weeks later with no brushing. Will definitely only buy this for as long as I have a pool.
