I recently bought a HP 15-ay052nr laptop with only 4GB of RAM. I opened it up and it had a free slot. The other slot had a Hynix DDR4 module just like this one. I ordered this and it works great. Some of the HP literature and store info said the laptop used DDR3 memory, but the box the laptop came in said it was DDR4 and the chip inside was also DDR4. I think 8GB total may be the most that laptop can use.
