Works for Basic Pasta Rolling, But Guards are Dangerously Sharp
This is a basic pasta press, and works just fine for simple at-home pasta without frills. HOWEVER, there is a major design flaw that caused an ER visit and 5 stitches -- I felt it was important to make people aware of this so it does not happen to anyone else, especially if you have kids:On the pasta roller side of the unit, the press has metal guards. The edges of these guards are (bizarrely) dangerously sharp. There is absolutely no need for this, as this part of the press has no cutting capabilities. The first time I used the unit, I went to pull up dough that was slipping and my fingertip made contact with the guard. I'll spare the details, but what was supposed to be a night of enjoying homemade pasta was instead spent in the Emergency Room. Please, PLEASE be careful. When I got home I put a piece of paper on the guard to test it, and it cuts like a freshly sharpened knife. I urge the manufacturer to reevaluate their design, and at the very least, file down the edges of the guards. Do not let your children use this without supervision, and make them aware not to touch the edges.

Good starter pasta maker - A bit small!
This is our first pasta maker so I (mainly my hubby) was anxious to get this and try it out. It’s a good starter pasta maker and the instructions do help. It’s a bit smaller than I had hoped and also not the sturdiest. It’s hard to work with and doesn’t seem to stay in one place in spite of the vice that comes with it.Overall we did get to make pasta and it was tasty and not that difficult. Fun.I recommend this smaller maker for beginner pasta enthusiasts but if you are experienced you might want something bigger/sturdier.

Good Roller for Polymer Clay
I actually use this for polymer clay and it’s not really recommended to multi-use a pasta machine for both polymer and food so it has to be one or the other. It’s heavy duty and well made. It was hard to get a good pic, but it rolls smoothly for flat dough and cuts evenly for the noodle (flat strings) setting. It’s easy to use and the thickness settings change easily. I have a pasta attachment for my heavy duty kitchen mixer, but I really appreciate using this and not having to find a plug for it. Seriously, hand-cranking this a few turns is not that much effort! And any savings on the electric bill is a win.*** Helpful? I rely on customer reviews for all my online purchases, so I hope so! ***

I just wanted to make homemade ravioli
I thought store bought ravioli was good enough... turns out I was wrong. I have always wanted a pasta maker but it slipped my mind and I made do without ravioli. One day, I see someone try some store bought ravioli and I wanted them, too. Unfortunately, those ravioli have preservatives and additives and, quite frankly, you can make fresh pasta and dry it or freeze it... No preservatives and no additives.I haven't made any pasta yet, but I have assembled the pasta maker and I'm more than pleased. The maker's structure is sturdy when anchored to work bench. It has a spaghetti and fettuccine blade attachment, but I'm not sure if I'll use it... Maybe.
