Thoughtful and educational lava kit
This kit comes with two fun activities, foaming lava and fizzing mineral pools. My son is 6 and was very interested in it, but required parent supervision throughout the activities. The foaming lava is the best, and there is enough material to do this activity about 10-15 times. There are even kid-sized eye goggles and gloves for protection but is also great dress-up fun to feel like a scientist. The directions are clear, but also highly educational if you want to learn the details about the reaction between sodium bicarbonate, citric acid, and water. My son and I performed this activity over a cookie sheet at the dining table and sufficiently kept the mess contained. We achieved the first eruption within 10 mins of opening the kit for the first time and continued to play for another hour or so, and we'll return to it again soon. The mineral pools are an OK activity but require cutting out white paper to fill the bottom of the brown plastic pools so you have a lighter background to see the blue and yellow colors of the water, which is a cumbersome part of the kit that makes you wish you just had white plastic pools. Overall, I think it was well-priced for the exciting results, and I would do the lava experiment over and over.

Very fun kit, many activities
My 12 year old wanted this for some summer time entertainment. The instructions were nice and easy, so she could do all of the set up and experiments by herself. She really enjoyed all the different activities that she was able to do with just this one kit. She did one per day, so every day she had something fun to work on. She even entertained her siblings when they would watch the volcanos explode. They really had fun when she let them help with the experiments. I would recommend this kit, this is the type of kits I like to buy for my children. It keeps them busy and entertained, and there is more than just one thing to do, so it lasts for a long time. Colored book it came with is great. Most supplies needed are included, (except for some drops of dish soap). Will look at buying more kits like this

Amazing Kit but Hard to Work With and VERY Messy
I absolutely LOVED this kit and haven't even done a majority of the stuff. It comes with a nice manual and is really fun to dig and do the experimentsThe only thing is its REALLY difficult to dig through the plaster (I'd assume) block with the skeleton pieces in it and my little sister accidently broke one of the legs trying to get a fossil out.I'd recommend this for slightly older kids or adults who loves dinosaur projects (Being 18 myself I loved it!)

Kaboom Explosive Eruptions and Foams is a must buy for your little scientists!
This lab was entertaining to my 12 year old who loves science. It was planned out well, organized and and came with clear instructions for fun “Kaboom” experiments. Parental supervision is needed for younger scientists as there are are minerals and liquids they could spill. The instruction manual is fun and keeps your scientist engaged.

Kids enjoyed playing with this
This product was fun for the kids. However, there isn't a lot to it. They lost interest pretty quickly in the trays that were meant to make the volcanos in and moved on to using soda bottles to make a bigger explosion. But they did enjoy the kit.

More of a fizzle less of a kaboom
UPDATE 10/19/23:Janne reached out to me after seeing my original review, and went above and beyond to make this situation better for us. Even though the product itself wasn't bad she still made it a point to make sure we were satisfied. She gave us the opportunity to try something else from their shop. My son ended up loving it.Not only was she present, she took it upon herself to message me to follow up on numerous occasions.I have never experienced such AMAZING customer service.Thank you Janne for all you did and for making my son happy in the end.I highly recommend you all purchase something from the especially if you child is into science experiments etc.My son is 8 he had his friend (11) over and we did a handful of the experiments in this box before we stopped and tossed it out. It’s great for younger ages I’d say. Box says 8+ but the two boys thought it was pretty lack luster once we got into it.Mainly just different ways to make foam; explosions and eruptions not even close. Now I may not have fully read the description and solely based it on what the box was selling but overall even for the age demographic that it says it reaches they both found it kind of boring. We made elephant toothpaste before opening this box and they enjoyed that more.A lot of underwhelming experiments. Again would probably be entertaining by a younger bracket but boys at 8+, at least in this house found this kaboom more of a ka-splat

A simple well put together kit that my son had a blast with
My son loves volcanoes. He can't get enough of them. We've already done some projects with some different kits that had the kids decorate the volcanoes and then just throw in some vinegar and baking soda. This one was a bit more creative, with multiple colors and places to let the liquid bubble over and mix. And it the book provided some fun information on a real location that the kit was modeled after. My son liked it enough that we pretty much had to pry it out of his hands to get him to get ready for the nighttime routine. It offered enough supplies to take it out and re-use it a few times, and it's not hard to add your own supplies if you want to keep it going. The included supplies are actually rather decent quality items, and my son loved the gloves and glasses. For me the thing that made this a bit more fun than the other kits I've picked up is that it provides a bottle of some kind of goo (I'm sure the instructions detail what it actually is), that you add to the mixture which thickens the foam and keeps it from fizzing out as fast as your standard baking soda kit would. So the colorful foam sticks around for the kids to play around with and also displays the color nicely. The included dye is nice as well. All and all a nice kit. We had a lot of fun.
