Perfect for a teen with Aspergers
Love this book! Lots of wonderful topics each day that really get him thinking. Questions are easy, so he doesn't mind doing this each day. It helps as a parent to have the topics outlined and situational examples in the book. We just finished the section on reputation, and I'm not sure I would have thought to talk with him about that preemptivly. If you are currently homeschooling your teen/pre-teen, this is a valuable part of our day!

Perfect for high school transition teachers!
This book is amazing! I teach a transition class for 12th graders who have a mild/ moderate learning disability and there are so many lessons included in this book that I can use. Each lesson has an objective, activity (worksheets), discussion, suggestions for extension activities, and evaluation questions (perfect for exit tickets). There are multiple categories such as self awareness, communication, budgeting, etc. The lessons aren't too difficult which will help to make my students feel confident about completing it, and not too easy so they won't feel like they're doing "baby work." I'm so excited to start implementing these lessons this school year!

Too Low
This was too low for the twentysomething autistic young women I bought it for. Probably works good for junior high age.

Very useful for my 17 year old
I bought this on the recommendation of a special needs influencer for my 17 year old son with special needs. He loves doing his daily lesson and we usually end up having a good discussion about the lesson. He’s dyslexia and has cognitive delays, and is two grades behind his peer group. I hope this information helps anyone considering purchasing it. We’re trying to get him to an equivalency exam. This book is rounding out the end of his education at home.

I got a lot of good ideas from these books
I got a lot of good ideas from these books, though, in some cases, I was forced to upscale them for a high school audience. I felt like the art and the way things are said were appealing for a younger crowd. But the ideas are definitely those that would benefit high school age students. So the books feel a little imbalanced in this way.

Great resource
The teacher next door lent me her copy of this and it had lots of great worksheets and activities to use with my students ages 14-22 SDC. I decided I’d buy my own so I could keep it forever.

Not great
The first order I had to return because when I went to take the book out of the Amazon shipping bag the book was completely wet along the bottom. I thought the Amazon shipping bags were weather proof. Then when I received the replacement book it was defective. A couple of the chapters were put upside down in the book. I kept it because I need it for my job. Very annoying!!!

Great For Troubled Kids!
Its on what seems to be a 3rd grade reading level, but helps students gain confidence. I teach a life skills class in an middle school in Brooklyn and was told that the entire curriculum is in this book. The school gave me the 5 most troubled kids in the school and it turned out to be a great tool. The books gives great ideas for lessons and activities, along with a daily worksheet. The work is highly manageable for middle school students and they end up working through the worksheet with confidence. I highly recommend this book to anyone teaching this type of course.

And not just for secondary students, adults too.
Love this book as my learning disabled and ASD daughter was unable to complete her education after the age of 15. Many lessons are still relevant at 27I find it very useful as it delivers lesson plans step by step. Some things need adapting as it is for a US audience and also the sentences need shortening for her level of understanding. Otherwise, excellent.

Life Skills Activities for Secondary Students
Very full, comprehensive book covering a broad area of social skills. Lots of ideas and worksheets. It missed out on 5 stars because some of the language is very American - it would be great to have an English equivalent.
