Life Skills Activities for Special Children

Useful For My Adult With Brain Injury
My daughter suffered a brain injury that took most of her skills, including reading, writing. When the time came when we were fortunate enough to be able to begin teaching her, with each step forward came a new challenge for us...those who were teaching her! We were lucky to find many, many resources online. Then we took to being able to purchase these instruction books on Amazon. The set of activity books are really wonderful. These are written with children in mind, but, we found them to be considerably helpful in our situation. I do hope that others, with teens or adults that may benefit from this series, does not dismiss them because it states for children with special needs. Many may benefit, as well.

Not for K-5 Special Needs Students
The worksheets and activities are not usable for my k-5 Special Education classroom. The worksheets have small print and require advanced writing skills. This would be much more appropriate for Middle or High School.

Nice book.
This is a great book for teaching life skills. We are using it for our homeschooled child with intellectual delays. I do feel like some of the reading and comprehension is too difficult for her to understand since her IQ is so low. We have had to modify some of the content. The book covers areas that you might not think about otherwise and it keeps us on track while providing our child with a quality education. i would recommend the Social Training work book as well, by the same author.

AWESOME!
This book is divided down into easy to understand sections. Each lesson runs on average of 20 to 30 minutes at the most. It is very easy to use and user friendly. I am beyond glad I bought this because the other life skill book I'd purchased was more about what life skills are and not teaching life skills. I suggest that every school system puchase this book because there will be absolutely no confussion for the students.

Easy to follow instructions for clients
This is a great book even for older special needs teens and adults depending on their learning abilities and where they are individually. The one complaint I have it it is hard to photo copy the pages nicely due to the binding. It would lay much nicer as a spiral bound book.

Not good, but a little usable
I don't like the lessons. Could have been better. I am using it to make my own better lessons with some of the ideas I'm getting from it.

Good book but is American. So refers to dollars etc.
The book itself is very good but refers to the American currency etc so I adapted it to UK.

An American Text
Bought this hoping to use with primary aged children with ASC; however, in my opinion, the worksheets are designed for teenagers or young adults with moderate Asc or Aspergers. Also the book is an American text, so all money activities are in dollars and cents and shopping vocabulary such as 'the mall' is used so not relevant for use in the UK.
