Rugged and non-slip over the long haul.
I've had it for a long time, and only now is the rubber starting to wear. It's very sturdy, and a great replacement for my previous one that wore out

Just what the doctor ordered!
Well I was visiting my mom and noticed her traditional cane was not stable enough to support her as she approaches 80 yrs young. She still gets around ok but every step is a little shaky. So since I was only in town for a week I ordered a few different quad tips from Amazon so she could choose the best one for her. I ordered the hurrycane go, drive medical quad tip, Hugo mobility quad and this Carex self standing (happened to be least expensive too). So when they arrived I had her try each one. To my surprise she liked this Carex the best. Hurrycane go...tip too small. Drive medical quad...unevenly balanced. Hugo mobility...awkward stride. Carex the winner! Just a good solid construction, perfect balance, perfect fit and good support with each stride. I was so surprised because it was the least expensive option so I tried it. I liked it the best too! Some reviewers said it was too heavy...we felt it was well built with good weight. I guess it just depends on personal strength and preference. Anyway I put it on the end of the Nova designer cane that just arrived(freakin beautiful cane) and the combination is awesome. She's so hard to please, but she loves it!!! Good quality, good support, good feel and a beautiful cane (and did I mention cheaper). I guess it just goes to show popularity, advertising and brand name don't necessarily determine best products. Choose for yourself but we give this quad tip a two thumbs up!

Less wobbly with this
This cane tip has made my cane more steady. It does add a little weight to the cane. On flat surfaces but not on rugs, ithe cane will stand up on its own which is handy.

Works for Me !
This cane tip is working very well for me. I had a problem with my cane falling over constantly, no matter what I propped it against when not in use. I got so tired of picking up my cane from the floor, or having someone pick it up for me. Also, the tip on my cane would cause it to slip if I encountered a wet surface. I was also worried about it slipping on icy surfaces during the winter. I saw a picture of someone using a cane with a strange-looking tip and decided to look into finding one. I found the canes on Amazon, but I didn't really need another cane, so I searched for just a tip. I purchased this one because it had good reviews and Carex was a name I recognized. Pros: My cane will stand up on it's on and rarely falls over, if I'm careful. So far, I haven't had it slip on wet surfaces. I feel like it helps me walk better and safer. Seems like a sturdy item that will last a long time. Cons: it does make my cane quite a bit heavier, but worth it for the safety factor alone.

Fantastic Cane Tip...Adds Stability For User
This is a GREAT & STURDY cane tip! My mother, who is in her 80's and is recovering from an illness, has just started using a cane. We noticed that "normal" rubber tips were unstable as she's regaining her balance after her illness. So, I researched numerous canes and tips (feet). I actually purchased three different canes for her. LOL! But, none of the tips seemed stable enough. I checked out a number of "quad canes", (that have 4 metal legs and tips in a cross pattern), that claim to offer more stability; but then read a medical review issuing warnings that many patients trip over the metal legs. Then, I found this rubber tip on Amazon. It is FANTASTIC! It offers stability, but doesn't extend very far, so there is far LESS chance of my mother tripping over it. I will say that because it is solid rubber, it does add weight to the cane. But, because it is one solid piece of rubber, there are no plastic pieces to fall off, compared to similar products on the market. After all my research, we added the Carex Self Standing Cane Tip to the EZ-Get-Up-From-Seat Adjustable Cane By Royal Canes, from Amazon UPC #811319013878, which is a light cane with two handles, one for walking and one to help my mother get from a seated position to standing. What a great combination! I have added a picture of both the cane and the tip.

Put your best foot forward
I've only had this a couple of days, so can't comment on its durability yet, but otherwise I like the product. It lets the cane stand on its own, rather than having to be leaned against something all the time. It can still be knocked over of course, but less likely, and the wider foot makes a little easier to hook a finger, or maybe a toe, under it for retrieval. I was concerned it would make the cane too bottom-heavy but that has not been an issue. It actually makes walking slightly easier because the rubber material flexes or "gives" slightly on landing and absorbs a little of the impact rather than transmitting it to your arm or shoulder. Note that the orientation of the foot relative to the cane's handle will affect how it lands, thus how stable it feels in use. Installation took a little effort but I was able to manage it. Running hot water over the old solo tip helped to expand it so I could work it loose. A little liquid dish soap eased both removal of the old, and installation of the new feet. If you don't dislike the color or style of this quad foot, the cost seems reasonable and it may be a good choice for you.

When I bought the Carex solid (not folding) adjustable cane for my husband I also bought this self standing attachment. It wasn't too hard to get the original cane tip off with a few good twists and this was a breeze to attach. It stands both on carpeting and regular floors without falling over. A good choice!

This is a very sturdy addition to any cane. Easy to install and provides good safety, especially going down stairs. It prevents slipping on ceramics. Highly recommend.
