Thanks to marketing people are too concerned with the number of cultures when they should be concerned with the number of strains in their probiotic (pre & post). I suffer from GERD aka acid reflux and have been on medication steadily for 5 years off and on for 2 decades. The dosage has gone from as needed to twice a day. I was actively seeking ways to get off of it including changing the way I eat like eating Greek yogurt almost daily. I used to take a 36 string pro and prebiotic twice a day and meds once daily. Can you say game changer? For about two weeks I took one vital flora and one Rx pill a day then I thought let me try just the Vital Flora. It’s been three weeks and I have not needed to take any medication for the first time in over a decade. No gas pains! No diarrhea! Nothing. One day I overdid it with processed foods. (I’m a little addicted to sausage.) I was scared that I would be in pain at night so I took another probiotic . Nothing happened. It is costly compared to other brands, but it has more strains than I’ve seen in any other pill of its kind. And it works!
