My family has now purchased 3 of these AMAZING toys!!! Ok seriously! I bought this the first time from Zulily thinking "hey, this looks cute" Let me tell you, it has become a life saver, on many occasions! We have since purchased 3, but no fault of the product! My son is now almost 11 months old and I purchased this when he was almost 1 month old. When you first turn him on, he plays little songs and can be turned up very loud. If you hold the little button, on the front, it changes what it does. It becomes a rattle, that makes different noises, it reads stories or it plays classical music. The only function we haven't really used, is the storytime. The little "ears" light up in different colors and my son would love to chew on the ears, which are made from a soft silicone. This is part of why we purchased #2. My cat was also drawn to the ears and with his super sharp fangs, he chewed one off. This became part of my son's bedtime needs and if he got fussy at night, I would turn Alilo up and it would calm him down. He became our go-to. We brought him back and forth to my Mother-in-Laws (when she watches him, during the week) and back home each night, because we had all become dependent on him. My MIL has now purchased one herself, to keep at her house.On a recent family vacation, our road trip was rather long. On the way there, my son slept for majority of the ride. When he woke up and was ready to get out and play, we turned the rattle on and he say there shaking it for the remaining half-hour of the drive. My hubby was going a little nuts, but it kept him happy. On the way home, sleeping wasn't happening. ALILO TO THE RESCUE! This time I put the classical music on. My son clung to him, held him close to his face and drifted right off! I was amazed!! I would purchase him 10 times again, if I had to!Ok, there is a little sensor, on the bottom, that if you press it down on a color, it says the color too! Pretty neat and great for teaching colors :)

The instructions for the Smarty are more helpful than those of the larger Alilo bunny. It's easy to operate. I've only used the pre-loaded music, etc. The "rattle" mode is neat as the sound matches the speed with which it's shaken. Major design flaw is having the tail as the volume control. It moves very easily and there is no locking feature for it. We repeatedly adjust the volume by mistake just by holding the Smarty. My 1 yr old is enthusiastic about the Smarty, he shakes and bangs it around causing the tail to rotate so that the sound goes too low and he loses interest. I'm constantly adjusting it back up, not ideal.

We got this for our 6 month old for Christmas. He absolutely loved it! The nursery rhyme songs keep him in awe as does the light up ears which change colors. Unfortunately, the tail has come off. The tail is what controls on/off and the volume, and is very small. So now it is a choking hazard and we can no longer give it to the baby. Disappointed in the workmanship of such an expensive product.

My grandson loves thing! Grandparents not so much! Ha!
