Big, neat & does the job
UPDATE: 13 months on - never had an issue, still working perfectly.I bought this transformer to be able to use a US robot vacuum and self empty base in Ireland (saving about €400).It has happily powered my robot vacuum self empty base for 2 weeks (continuously on). The base has a 1400W vacuum motor so I selected the 3kVA transformer to make sure I was comfortably under the rating. I monitor the power used by the vacuum/base and it seems to be pretty much as efficient as it’s rating so no significant losses in the conversion (costs about €0.60 per week running it nearly every day).It is very quiet, only ever a very faint buzz from it and never feels warmer than room temperature. The 3kVA transformer is very big and heavy. The plastic shell has an ok finish, some sink marks from the moulding process make it look a little cheap up close. At the two week mark all seems good, hoping it lasts at least as long as the vacuum!

Supports a lot of power
I use this to power an American import (Giraffe Tools) pressure washer, which draws a lot of juice (around 2300W). It works perfectly - very pleased.

High wattage
Bought this to power a Panasonic cordless iron that ran on 120v, and it's brilliant. 2 outlets. It's VERY heavy so is good quality and should last. Seems to be worth the expense so far and it can be hung on a wall for easy use

Died after just 3 months
When it worked, it worked great. But after just a few months it does not work

Works perfectly powering a kitchen appliance from Japan
I bought this to run an imported mochi maker machine from Japan (110v) to work in the UK (240v). Works perfectly stepping down the outlet 240v to machine 100v. Looks modern, solidly built and as per image. Though the unit is heavy, it is expected for the power it is able to handle.

Solid unit not everheating even under high watts
Using it now for three years for CDN kitchen appliances in Europe and very long strands of old fashioned Xmas tree bulbs with close to 3 k wattage total with no overheating or when using heavy duty Cuisinart no blown fuse or heating. Great value I own two

Just works
Great step down transformer. Quiet and less obtrusive than some of the others we considered. We’re using it to power a US kitchen appliance in the UK, it’s visible in the kitchen, so ascetics was important to us.
