Easy replacement
The RF on my old one died after 18 years. This replacement went in in five minutes. Just pop the cover, and switch over 4 wires. No reprogramming needed. The one bad thing is that is makes a strange chirping noise with every beep the panel makes. It sounds like a cricket. I find it somewhat annoying, but it does not effect the operation.

Nice alphabetic display, wireless receiving capability, easy to add new sensors.
Some keys of my alarm keypad are not responsive after 20+ years' usage. So, I replace it with a new Honeywell 6160RF keypad with wireless receiving capability. This keypad is fully compatible with my Honeywell V20P alarm panel. I purchase the 6160RF keypad from Amazon because my alarm company is selling the very same thing with 2X the price. Per my alarm company's feedback, they charge some premium as they provide warranty and offer free replacement if the keypad fails down the road. Quite a premium charge for the warranty. This keypad has wireless receiving capability. I can now take advantage of Honeywell 5834-4 four-button wireless remote key to arm/disarm my home alarm system....just like arming/disarming my car with the remote key. Also, I can easily add additional wireless sensors without the hassles to run physical lines to wire up sensors to the alarm panel. My alarm panel is Honeywell V20P. There are quite some Youtube vidoes teaching people how to change the address in the keypad from the default setting of 31 to 16. To my surprise, the address of the 6160RF keypad is already at the correct value of 16 the first time I connect it to my alarm panel. So, I don't need to do anything and it just works. Youtube videos also teach people how to change the display message to take advantage of 6160RF's alphabetic display capability to provide easy-to-understand information. Luckily, my alarm monitor company is able to login to my alarm panel through the cellular communication line and do that. After that display configuration is done, the 6160RF panel display shows "FRONT DOOR OPEN", "KITCHEN DOOR OPEN", "MOTION DETECT"...kind of information. All in all, I am satisfied with this 6160RF keypad panel.

Failed Speaker after 3 Months
I always wait at least 2-3 months before writing a review. If I would have written the review right away, you would have seen a 5 star review. Unfortunately after 3 short months of ownership with this new keypad, big problems have occurred with the brand new keypad. After just a few weeks, the keypad started to malfunction a little bit. When I would press any of the keypad keys, the LCD screen would kind of flicker a little bit. Almost like the backlight was flickering due to the speaker making noise when you push keys. Never had this issue on any other 6160 I’ve ever owned. Then the speaker on the keypad completely failed the other day. This is ridiculous. I’ve owned several 6160 series keypads from Honeywell and never had a single problem with them ever. Luckily I had a old Honeywell 6160V keypad that was removed due to a upgrade to a touchscreen keypad in our master bedroom. The speaker was still good in it; so I was able to transplant the good speaker for my old keypad into the new one. It is still working now with the transplanted speaker. But unfortunately, the keypad LCD screen still flickers when I push any keys on the keypad. Not sure if it’s an issue with the LCD backlight or if it’s a power droppage issue when they speaker makes noise. These newer versions seem to be much lower quality. Looked into possibly doing a warranty claim on it before I even touched the keypad and it seems like you have to jump through a bunch of hoops to even get a warranty claim. ** Buyers Beware **

Great for programming and chimes are better too then the 6150.
I had a 6150RF in the master bedroom and a regular 6150 at the garage door entry. These were hard to program because your basically programming a blank screen plus the chimes were annoyingly loud on the 6150's even though I tried to cover speaker with paper towel and tape. The 6160's I purchased are really easy to address and makes it easy to program the system because with the alpa you can see what it's asking for. The chimes are more soothing also. The LED screen is larger and more easy to see. I still covered the speaker hole on 6160's with paper towel to quiet it down a little more. I folded a piece of paper towel into 4 layers thick. Pressed it down around the opening to get an impression of the circle and cut with scissors so it would fit the hole and put the speaker back in over it. Much better now even though it wasn't to bad to begin with. See my photo. It was a great upgrade for a not to bad price. I highly recommend an upgrade if you have the 6150's. You won't regret it.

Program your alarm panel and good quality.
Just as advertised. No installation issues, but for the faint of heart, beware. You might have to program this to your panel. Mine came in preset to address 16 which is the primary position. I haven't used the RF function of this yet, but will try to remember to update this once I have done so. Although this panel worked perfect to allow me to program my new 20P panel, I would like to have a better feel to the buttons. Wiring is very simple and the color is marked on the pcb at the connection point. Just make sure the power is off when you make the connections so you don't short anything out, it's only low voltage so I did hook mine up with the panel live.

Easy to install .. but Programming your system requires some research and studying .
4 wires.. piece of cake install.. programming is another matter .. unless you are familiar.. you will need to research programming because included instructions are not very informative.. fortunately.. tons of you tube videos and websites that details in more user friendly way.. compatible with vista 20p and other Honeywell panels .. ability to add wireless sensors and alpha display are the prime benefits of this keypad.. wireless make your alarm system easily expandable and 6160RF range is great. If your system is already programmed or you don’t need wireless, you can use the cheaper key pads like 6150
