I liked this movie .

The science behind the movie isn't terrible but it has its plot holes. Even at the end where he's in the tank permanently - there's a complete disregard for how a body is affected by a tank of water against the skin. Not to mention there's no explanation or follow through on how he's 'still alive' and fed. This part aside there were a few other points that showed up, but all in all, it was a decent watch and did better than most reviews suggested.A major plot point is the reminder throughout the movie about the absence of dry land, and that somehow the ocean has rushed in against Miami and New Orleans. The problem here despite the creativity and overall scene art, is that if, "The land sunk" as mentioned in the movie, none of the buildings would have remained standing.The movie expects the viewer to believe that the entire continent of North America has also sunk under the waves of the ocean despite the fact that there are numerous locations inland that are far higher in elevation. People wouldn't live as sewer rats or only come out at night - not clear on that point, when they could just start over further inland. There was also something about a war but not enough information is given as to what it was or why?As I said here, there are things that one has to ignore to get through the real points of the movie which is the love the main character has for the woman and all of her struggles. Overall, it was a nice idea and well presented as a whole. The ending was also unexpected.

The story is a modern retelling of Orpheus and Eurydice set in Miami after global warming has submerged the city. The acting, visuals and action sequences are superb. The foreshadowing and subtle components of the plot make for enjoyable second and third viewings. The film is brought to life by the nuances of the monologues and dialogue between main characters. Most viewers must have missed these. This movie touches on something essential about the human condition in the same way that the story of Orpheus and Eurydice does, using a unique setting and applying some welcome twists. It is not a movie to be skimmed through but will reward you generously for your attention. It is one of the few films that has brought tears to my eyes.

Ok movie

I’ve never heard of this movie before, popped up in my suggestions. I gave it a shot man. Wow! It was really good! Packed full of a Lotta really good actors! I really like the story arcs. Do you like sci-fi, if you like detective stories, if you like love stories, give this one a shot, Won’t be so disappointed !

Awesome

Great original story line. It was a good strong build up and I was into it....then the end flopped like a pancake. I feel that the ending could have been outstanding, had the writers continued with a strong finish. Hugh Jackman is great as always. I watched it twice just to give it a fair chance.

I love this movie. It has a unique passion for the noir films of the 40s and 50s bringing romance, action, science fiction, fantastic performances and exhilarating suspense from start to finish. It's visually dazzling, gripping and heart-pounding entertainment. It has a great sense of story and character-development and keeps things moving nicely. It's a beautifully crafted movie made with passion and love from its director and her spirited and professional cast. Hugh Jackman is sensational, he never phones in a performance, he gives it his all and he shines. Rebecca Ferguson is fantastic. Thandie Newton is excellent.

ça faisait longtemps que j'avais pas vu un tel naufrage. il y avait pourtant des idées. tout d'abord un environnement intéressant, les villes inondées, les riches au sec dans des grosses cités sécurisées. Et il y a surtout un concept intéressant, la possibilité de se replonger dans ses souvenirs, d'arriver à se promener dans son passé. mais hélas, ça ne marche pas, l'histoire d'amour est superficielle, les méchants fades, les scènes d'action manquent d'originalité et de force. quant à l'intrigue, ça avance laborieusement et la scenariste-realisatrice ne donne jamais vraiment l'impression de profiter pleinement de son univers et de la technologie pour exploiter le passé. C'est pas loin du ridicule sur la fin. En plus ca sens le wokisme a plein nez, les vrais méchant ont les terres sèche, les autres marche a pieds dans 30 cm de flotte et vende du bakka tranquille et sont tous asiat ou bronzé, c'est n'importe quoi ! même thandie newton a changer de prénom, maintenant c'est thandiwe newton. quelle belle époque !
