Very enjoyable military action movie
All in all, this was one of the more technically accurate military movies I've seen in a while. There was a lot of newer and accurate hardware used and the tactics were more believable. The acting was also very good.Seeing as it was a modern military movie from the Chinese point of view, It kept my interest through the entire movie..If you like military action movies, this one is definitely worth a watch. You will need to turn on sub-titles if you don't speak Chinese.

Amazing movie!
I have both Wolf Warrior movies and look forward to the 3rd (fingers crossed). Great action, great storyline and I have no problems it being subtitled! So worth it.

Decent Action Movie, Heavy China Slant, But Worth Watching
This is a similar formula American movie, but converted with Chinese action hero. Of course China is the best, and other South East Asian countries are just lawless drug dens, with American mercenaries (with bad accents). So if you basically want to see an American warmed over plot with a hotshot Chinese actor/army solider who is a rebel, but gets things blown up and "bad guys" shot, this is a decent movie. I was surprised that China did allowed hotshot army character was allowed to disobey orders, and still stay in the military. It opens up a can of worms that if you are special, you can get special treatment. Note: The non-Asian characters here are considered "bad guys", since this is through the lens of China.

Average Chinese Action Film with a Capable Leading Man
This movie was average at best, despite Jing Wu and other very capable stars.Wu Jing is a versatile, accomplished action film star in eastern cinema (Shaolin, Call of Heroes, Tai Chi Master, Tai Chi 2, Kill Zone, etc.). Clearly, this movie is for those with an appreciation for eastern action film genre. In that realm, the film is entertaining and worth the watch, but does fall short of many of the actors' capabilities.Clearly it is not a "realistic" military action film, but I doubt anyone expects it to be, and it's difficult to name one that is. The fact that it's themed from a Chinese patriotic point of view may offend viewers who have difficulty respecting another's view on nationalism, fail to recognize the propaganda in mainstream American films of this type, or think that having to read subtitles makes a movie inferior. It is not a "realistic" military action film, but it's difficult to name one that is, and I doubt that anyone choosing to watch this movie thought that it would be.In sum, my recommendation is that you should watch what pleases you. If this genre appeals to you, then give this average film a try.

Great Movie
Yes, it is very patriotic. The action was non stop. The secound Wolf Warrior movie was better made and less patriotic. So many tactical errors but the bad guys were American and a pharmacuetic maker two of the most hated symbols in their society.

Not that good
Purchased due to 4 star overall review. In short the movie was a disappointment. Simple plot with a few ordinary mercenaries who really don't have a plan on how they could capture a target while fending off the ENTIRE Chinese military. Action scenes not very interesting either - last fight scene was good but didn't last long. Also could not ignore the cheesy military propaganda no matter how hard I tried (not saying a country doesn't have the right to be proud of their own - but leave it out of an action flick and focus on the movie itself). Wont be missing out on much if u don't see this one. Excellent movies on my list include : No tears for the dead or Man from no where.

This is a great action movie with subtitles
Read the reviews. It is worth it. I believe there is a second movie also, so watch it also.

Made for Chinese only
The subtitles are most of the time too fast to read, especially if you want to watch the movie. Basically, this is a Chinese propaganda movie desigend to glorify Chinese Special Forces. It is interesting only in that the movie shows Chinese hardware--not anything state-of-the-art, but certainly stuff that is still in service and commonly used in the PLA. Tactics are ludicrous from a real-world standpoint, but totally understandable from a traditional Chinese propaganda standpoint. Gung-Ho = gong he = work together/fight together. That kind of thing. It's a concept well understood by the US Marine Corps, and a phrase that found its way into Marine Corps usage during WW2, with the USMC sergeants who trained what were ostensibly Chinese Nationalist soldiers in India (under the direction of Vinegar Joe Stilwell) to fight the Japanese in Burma. A lot of these Chinese soldiers were in fact Chinese Communist soldiers sent to infiltrate the Chinese army being put together in India. They made great NCOs, made little secret of their Communist leanings, and taught their US Marine instructors the meaning of "gung ho."A movie like this makes me wonder what Chinese Special Forces are really like, how they are trained, and what kind of equipemnt they have at their disposal. My gut feeling is that Chinese Special Forces are a lot more capable than probably anyone outside of China knows. All of which makes this movie little more than a teaser . . .

Wolf Warrior packs a few surprises!
I didn't know what I would should expect from the film going in, but was pleasantly surprised!I am a fan of Wu Jing (Jacky) and I think his acting in this one is excellent! There are some memorable characters and the movie manages to make you care about supporting characters, which I found surprising.Plot is about Chinese military conducting a military exercise, when their team of elite soldiers (Wolf Warriors) comes under attack by western mercenaries, led by Scott Adkins. Rather than step in, the government allows Wolf Warriors to show their strength and overcome the adversary through courage, determination and skill. Thus, heroes are born and lost! Actually, the movie is sort of an inverted setup of a regular action movie. In most action movies, bad guys are numerous and good guy defeats them all. Not in this one! The good guys are numerous, but the bad guys are highly skilled and deadly! As a whole, I loved the movie, I found Wu Jing and Scott Adkins enjoyable to watch, I found myself caring for some of the side characters and I think the movie showcased the bravery of soldiers fighting for their country well. I should also mention that there were some awesome shots of military machines - helicopters, tanks, AFVs, which I greatly enjoyed! I would give this 4.5/5, for it's action and drama. Some movies are better, but this is definitely a good one! Unfortunately, there is no English dub, which I would've liked to see on more Asian cinema!
