Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back Darth Vader Voice Changer Helmet

I was surprised by this, after reading some reviews that said the sound was terrible. Everyone can tell what I'm saying when I use the voice modifier mode. I get tons of compliments and even scared a couple people, haha, in a good way. I would love a full helmet model, but that would be more difficult to put on and take off and probably have to be in at least two pieces. This is very easy to use put on and off. The recorded sounds are very good with every other push of the button giving you just the breathing sound. Batteries seem to last a long time too. I think it's well enough made though I wouldn't trust it to survive dropping it or any rough play. I was very surprised at how well I can see out the lenses while it being very much dark enough that no one can see in through them. The lenses are perfect and they don't fog up, or at least didn't for me and I live in a humid climate. People are very surprised, when they see it from the front, that it's not a full over the head helmet. They are also surprised that it didn't cost a lot more. I am very happy with it. I used it for a Halloween costume, but I hope to find more opportunities to wear it, maybe when I go see TROS. :)

THis was a birthday gift for 8 yr old grandson. It was a big hit- especially the voice changer!

It is pretty large looking for a child but the straps on the inside allow for a small head. The result is that your little kid looks like Dark Helmet from Spaceballs. I'm not sure who gets more enjoyment out of this mask, me or my son. The voice changer works pretty well and its got recorded Vader lines also. The only thing I don't like is that it has a demo setting that gives you an instruction on how to use the voice changer every time before using. With young kids you are going to end up either listening to the same annoying message repeatedly or have to keep making sure they put it back on the normal setting.

As some of the other reviewers said. Batteries that were included had corrosion. A little sketchy but manageable. By the Looks of the package it’s an older discontinued model, more than likely, which makes sense. Maybe take care of that before gifting it to a child.

Delivery was five days late. My grandson was crushed that this didn't come when it was expected, and not the next day, or the next. When we got it five days late, it looked obviously used. I opened the battery compartment to old leaky batteries. I replaced them and the mask buttons worked intermittently and then not at all. When it did work, the voice changer was a low statically inaudible noise. My grandson and I were beyond disappointed. I thought this was going to be a new good quality mask. With quick research, I was able to run down to Target and buy this (brand new) for almost half the price. Saw a similar review of this product. Might even be the exact one after the other reviewer returned it. Don't waste your time with this product or seller.

I needed this for a classroom activity I was doing. It fits an adult face or older child (10 yr old) really well. Coolest part? If you press a button on the side, it says classic Vader lines from the movies. My 8th graders loved the trash talk banter that Vader gave them during my lesson. I totally recommend this. It is excellent quality and lots of fun.

We purchased this as a birthday gift for a 5 year old boy. He LOVED it. It worked great. He spoke through it numerous times and we had no problem understanding him or my 4 year old daughter who also tried it out. I did not think it was hard to understand as other reviewers stated. We also liked that there were some pre-recorded phrases. It is a bit heavy but the kids could have cared less. According to his parents, it was his favorite gift.

This thing is so fun. I just put it on for laughs when I argue with people to piss them off by saying Darthish Vaderish things. When they say something really stupid I just press the little button on the left, and let Darth Vader give an answer which makes absolutely no sense, and sometimes his quotes come just at the right time,,,,with the total audacity of a well timed and perfectly placed logical response to bs lol. By it, it's great for parties and Thanksgiving.
