Works great!
I've used 6 of these so far, and each connector functioned the same as Fibrlok. Zero loss and completely disappeared from otdr. For those saying they don't work, you need a cleave length of about 13mm. Insert one end and secure, then insert the other fiber until the first side bows up, then press the mechanism down. I use my fibrlok tool that holds the fibers in place and has a lever to engage the connector. it's way easier, but the included tool should accomplish the same thing.

I guess it will work, but no instructions.
These look like they will work, but I guess you have to already know how to use them. No instructions were provided, except one sticker on a bag that kind of showed a confusing strip guide. Maybe I can find a YouTube video or something that explains it. A little stamped-metal mystery tool was also included (see photo). Not sure what to do with that either... I hope it's not too important. There was supposed to be 10 splices in the package, but I only got 9 of the main center part, without which the whole splice is useless. One of the outer parts was broken as well, so might as well say I paid for 10 but only received 9. If I can figure out how to install these I'll update this review with the results.

Total Junk!
No light transmission through connector. Don't waste your money. Can't even use these as a boat anchor. Straight in the garbage

These mechanical splice connectors are great, they work well. My dog chewed my incoming cable and it was a week before an engineer could be sent out. I purchased a cheap tool set with fiber cutters and cleaver here on Amazon. I also ordered some wipes and isopropyl 99.99%. As a DIYer, my fiber optic knowledge was limited to YouTube videos. I tried in earnest to prepare each end of the broken fibers. Unfortunately on my first attempt, when pushing in the prapred ends to the mechanical splice connector they wouldn't go in. Thankfully a close friend of mine (who lives over the other end of the country) reviewed photos of my prepared ends and informed me that I hadn't stripped the fiber completely. Apparently there was one more very fine glass layer to strip, he was right, this allowed me, once i had cleaned and cleaved the ends properly (14mm), to slide the prepared ends into the connector. I plugged in the power meter (that came with the tool kit) into the SC/APC connector, set it to 1550nm and had a db reading of 38.44. This is no good, it wants to read between 20-24db. After wiggling and adjusting the connector slightly the reading dropped to 24db. Hey presto. These mechanical splice connectors work a treat and have been a real life saver.
