Stupidly good value for the quality and size.
For the fair price, this has to be among the best art books I own. Quality is stellar as well.

A must for Giger fans that don't have a hard copy of Necronomicon
The pages on this book a are too small. The artist packs so many details, that the naked eye, without the ability to zoom in, will certainly miss. Especially on prints like The Spell, which are broken over 2 pages, and its middle folds in too close. You can't see it all. It's too bad really. But, I always wanted a good Giger art book, and never got around to getting one.Overall, I don't regret it one bit. It does a good job offering the most important illustrations that chronicle his career.

Bought as a Birthday Gift
I was not acquainted with this painter/artist. It was on his gift list and I am familiar with TASCHEN publications, so I went ahead and bought it. Always great publications on art! Great promotional price.

An Art Book Done Right
I’m not sure how Taschen - the publisher of this book - is getting away with selling this for $25. This is easily a $50 book. There are 500 pages chronicling Giger’s work from the ‘60s when he favored India ink, to the ‘70s and ‘80s when he switched to airbrushed acrylic paints. Not all of his work can be found here, but there’s a wide variety that serves as the perfect tour of his history. Almost all of his art is sexually explicit or grotesque, and I’m glad his untampered work continues to be preserved several decades later. This is not an oversized book like his Necronomicon series, and does not serve as a replacement for his older published works. The pages here are smaller, leading to many pieces being spread across two pages. Coupled with the thickness of the book, this makes viewing complete pieces rather difficult, even with spreading the pages as flat as possible. This is also a multi-language book. There’s a biography by an Austrian art curator that’s written in English, German, and French, which leads to the unfortunate side effect of having several wasted pages of the same text repeated across three different languages.Despite these issues, the layout of the book is exceptional. The art is presented in chronological order, each piece labeled with a caption detailing the medium used, the surface painted on, and the dimensions of the piece. For a Giger fan, this purchase is a no-brainer. The smaller size makes it a perfect fit on a bookshelf, and easy to carry around. If you have even a passing interest in art, do yourself a favor and buy this book.

Immaculate condition and factory sealed
This book was beyond my expectations, I though it was an art book it is much more. Anyone a fan of HR Giger's works should have this book in the collection. It was smaller than expected; however totally worth it since it showed me works and sketches and I had never seen before. Very Inspiring. Sorry no pictures I don't do much with my mobile phone and it is pain to get pictures on for the review.

Great Book for any HG Giger Fan, but...
HG Giger is an artistic genius (to put it lightly), and having access to a book that is about 510 pages of his artwork and background is a pleasure to look through and read. My only gripe is that when the book is closed in measures about 6.5 x 9 inches, so it is a fairly compact (and thick!) book. When they try to showcase some of works using a two page spread, since the book is on the smaller side, the center if the image is creased where the two pages fold together and it makes it a challenge to appreciate the artwork. It is a shame that the book is not larger in size. An 8 x 11 inch page size would have been a great benefit to this book. It is unfortunate the book is so compact but considering the it is only $25 it is acceptable. If you do not want to pay $300+ for his more rare art books (if you don't own them already) then this is an inexpensive alternative with some quirks but it is still a great product.

Well made book of HR Gigers nightmares.
Another well made book from Taschen. What an imagination HR Giger had! Through ALIEN he had so much influence on the popular imagination. If he'd contributed more to the Alien series the movies would have been even more nightmarish and memorable.
