My new car doesn't have a built-in roof rack or rails. I was looking for something that I could slip on and off quickly when I needed to transport long boxes, a ladder, etc. as well as my favorite Kayak! I didn't want a big metal rack----just something I could keep in the trunk, ready to install (quickly), as needed!I researched other models, but did not like the thought of having to inflate them manually for every use! This Self-inflating model has beenthe perfect solution! It comes in a small black nylon bag with full (easy-to-read) instructions. You take it out and open the valve on each of the two cross pieces. Within a minute, it has self inflated!!! You close the valve and strap it on ( the strap goes in through the car's interior!). You then secure the load with the 2 included straps. Voila!!! You are ready to roll!I have used it to carry my ladder and Kayak several times so far with NO problems. I put it on, use it, and put it back in the trunk. So far I find this a very handy product!

Yes this is really a temporary solution for a roof rack but I love it and would give 10 stars if possible.I bought this online and drove from Grand Rapids to Toronto with a kayak on the roof of my Nissan Rogue and after stopping twice to help tuck in flapping ties, this worked PERFECTLY. I used a sheet of non slip drawer liner on top of my car before putting these on so they something to kind of 'hang on to' as my car was recently waxed and slippery.Hint - if it rains while you are parked - undo the straps and let them hang off the roof of your car - otherwise water finds the lowest point which means, inside your car. If you are driving in the rain, get ready to get wet.

worked well on my prius. I was able to fit 4 people and gear for a spring skiing trip. Low cost. Just take precautions to follow instructions and use extra padding as needed where you worry about metal on paint issues. I put towels down under my ski bindings to ensure it didnt touch paint. I also used extra straps and bungee cords where needed. Overall, It made a less crammed ride for 4 people and we all saved on gas thanks to the prius. It arrived in 2 days by the way. One day before we were going up to the hills.

we have a Toyota Prius and used it this weekend to hold my husband's skis and it worked, quick to install and did the job.

I love kayaking and i wasn't about to buya crv just so I could tote mine around. This was an affordable way to make my dreams of carrying my kayak on my small saturn possible.Thank you! it is a great product

Worked perfect for a kayak on our son's 2007 Prius for a trip across the country. Great alternative to spending $450 on a regular roof rack.

Awful productIT WILL SCRATCH YOUR CAR!!Even after following instructions to make sure that your rooftop is clean I took my snowboards out and when I came back and removed the roof rack I noticed my rooftop had a scratch. And the side of my vehicle over where the straps pull down was dented
