I found this useful because the dryer vent was straight up for me. Without this when the dryer was pushed back the flex hose would deform against the wall. This offers more strength so the flex hose won’t squish against the wall. It’s Made of metal which is good. It also decreases the distance to the vent outlet which for me was straight up, so it was easier to connect the flex hose.

I was worried if it would fit our Samsung dryer and yes it did. Not sure our model number but it does fit it. Our dryer was bought in 2022/2023. Wish we got this soon. It slides right on and clamped down for security. It can be adjusted after clamping while staying secured. We got the 4in.

In the past I've always connected flexible hose directly to my dryer. This often led to undesirable results -- the hose would squish or it would fall off, the seal was poor, etc. This solidly built elbow solves those problems fairly simply. My only complaint is that it has sharp edges, so you need to use care when working with it.

Perhaps there are a fortunate few installations wherein the dryer vent wall port connection is directly behind the vent port connection on the dryer, but if not and your dryer is part of the Whirlpool, Maytag, etc, family then this product is highly recommended to avoid potentially hazardous air flow restrictions in your vent duct tubing. Yes, it is made from a thin gauge material, but with taking care with your install that should not matter. Prior to installing this product my dryer’s flexible vent duct tubing (the higher quality type) had to make two 90 degree turns which both restricted air flow and shortened the life of the flexible duct tubing when disconnected for vent cleaning. Now with this product on the back of the dryer the flexible tubing only needs to make a very shallow turn to meet the wall connection. Another advantage to this product is that while you will need the hose clamps for the each end of the vent duct tubing (one at wall connection and the other for the “rippled” end of this product), this product slides snugly onto the back vent connection of this family of dryers without needing a clamp to keep it there (as long as it is pushed all the way in so the flange meets the back of the dryer panel). When it is time to clean out the vent tube it is easy to remove from the back of the dryer without causing stress on the duct tubing.

Quality construction and fits perfectly. Well, it’s made with whirlpool brand on it! Few installations can avoid a hard 90 degree bend in the exhaust duct. This always is a potential crush point . This elbow eliminates that and rotates to allow easy routing of duct.

Perfect for my Speed Queen dryer! The flange coming out of the dryer is very short…an inch at most. On top of that, it’s recessed. So making a quality connection is difficult. This worked so well and stays tight to the back of the machine as you can see. I’m OCD, so I did add tape to make sure no lint escapes any crimped area.
