A mosaic of slices of life
A gem of a book. Amazing, flowing read. It encapsulates a core story and the suspense within layers of wisdom and anecdotes and life lessons which Mr. Chattanathan has very cleverly blended with the book.Read it for perspectives on urban poverty, the inequity prevalent in our society, stories of self-confidence and self-doubt, of the meditative nature of car-washes, of the prisons of pedestals on which we place heroes, of living with uncertainties, of faster solutions and smarter solutions, of success & hard work & good decisions, of love and the joy of giving, of the importance of life skills versus doles, of pain & pleasure, of corporate lessons, office mantras, paints, colours and so much more!Beyond all this, the book is sprinkled with humour and poetry; while it constantly explores advantage and disadvantage, destiny and hard work, chance and design as its core themes. And it never lets up on the pace and the underlying story.A must read for anyone willing to explore a powerful story, packed with life-lessons and thought-provoking perspectives.

Nice read
." My Rides with Sahib " by Chattanathan D is an another refreshing and an inspirational story divided into short forty chapters. It has elements like struggles, sacrifices, responsibilities and enormous motivational words and lines which keep you engaged till the end..The story revolves around Sheetal, who was a chirpy, sweet and an ambitious girl who dreamt to be a poet but end up working as a taxi driver due to her father's condition. She sacrificed her dreams and became a responsible daughter, who worked hard to earn money. She met Mr. Nathan(Sahib) , in one of her rides and he completely changed her perspective towards life. To know more do grab your copies now and go through this amazing read..Now, coming on the book cover, it's simply designed yet attractive and eye-catching. The title of the book was well-suited and searched. The writing style of the author was good and rich. The narration was apt. The pace was good as each story depicts some other events. All the characters were strongly presented and well-built..Overall, a nice read and will recommend. Do try..

A read that will make you introspect life
The title itself had gripped me and every chapter as the story kept unfolding had me more invested. The book is divided in forty chapter and each chapter is like a story in itself with interesting titles. Each story is narrated with so much detailing that the visuals literally play in front of your eyes through the authors words. I have a lot of favourite ones particularly there is a chapter “Afterglow” that touched my heart. Well you will know why once you grab your copies. Let me introduce you to the book a little in the meantime. The story revolves around sheetal who is a taxi driver not out of choice but out of circumstances and during one of her rides she meets Sahib (Mr Nathan) who changes her perspective towards life along the many rides that they take. The book is fast paced but I read it at a slow space because I didn’t want it to end and was wanting to go on for a little longer. The reason behind it were the life lessons that one learns through their conversations and ray of positivity that the story emotes. I would recommend this book to all its a ride that you will enjoy what ever point in your life you read.Ps - I adore the way the author writes his female protagonist be it in this book or the latest book “Anjanamma”

As Stories were told.....A generation ago
Never having pre-ordered anything in my life before this, I was hesitant to do it this time, when someone who knew the author personally, recommended this to me. Waited for the first weekend to start reading the book and figure out if it was worth my time. I was hooked on instantly and transported back to my school days. . . .the days of Ruskin Bond, R.K.Narayan & O.Henry's short stories. Sometimes, you see a movie with a fabulous storyline & are then tempted to ready the original story to find out what the movie couldn't capture. I have always felt that the story in the book is better than what I may have seen on celluloid. Hopefully, someone picks up this story and attempts to convert it into a movie. I am sure no movie can capture the emotion of this simple life story with all the twists & turns of real life. This felt like one of those books. Absolutely mesmerizing story. Worth the time I invested into it. A simple story for simpletons. If the author's next book carries forward the same style of writing, he has a fan for life.

An unconventional story with a strong female lead!
My Rides With Sahib is a philosophical, poetic ride through various human emotions and relations. It is the story of Sheetal, a young female taxi driver. One day, she drops a passenger at the airport but as the passenger was short of cash, he hands over his business card to Sheetal and asks her to give him a call for the balance payment. Little did Sheetal know, that this meeting with "Sahib" will change her life. This book is very quotable, the narration is filled with author's contemplation over various subjects. The book is slow paced and more attention has been paid to character development. There are many characters in the book besides Sheetal and Sahib who play their role perfectly and have clear personality traits like Satyam, Vijay etc.The writing style is descriptive. Sahib's character has an air of mystery as we get to know his full story only by the end. There were a lot of twists in the second half and the end was unpredictable, however this book would have been more interesting if the secrets that were revealed at end were distributed or hinted at throughout the plot. The story and female lead are unconventional, I am glad that this book didn't turn out to be just a romance novel. Overall, it was a decent read for me.
