Great unit. Quieted the background of my stereo system (not silent, but better).

I Got a Bad One, but Issue Resolved Quickly
After a couple weeks the blue LED stopped working. It still supplied power, and it seemed to still be conditioning the power, but, as the instructions state, the surge protection is compromised when the light does not illuminate. The reset button did not bring the light back on, and did not feel quite right when pressed. I clicked on the "return" option on the website here, and was connected to a chat where I explained the situation. The technician / customer service person quickly ordered a new one for me, and said I'd have it the next day. Pretty simple! Sure enough, the new one arrived the next day, and I just had to return the original one. I printed the shipping label from this site and dropped it off at a UPS store a couple days later.I have had the new one for about a month now, and it works fine. With the first one, it was difficult to get some plugs into the outlets for some reason, but with this one they go in smoothly. I must have just received a bad one originally. The speed, and ease, in which they remedied the situation was very impressive! As far as a product review for it goes, I'm not an electrical expert, but it seems to do what is expected. I use it for my guitar amplifier and effects pedals. I have blown some fuses at some venues when I plug into the provided outlet strips or wall outlets, so I wanted to make sure my equipment doesn't get damaged by something I could have prevented. There was a slightly noticeable clarity improvement in the amplifier's tone at my home once I started using it. At some venues, before I bought this, my amp sounded different than when used at home. (granted, there's also some acoustical differences, I know) With the power conditioner, the tone is consistent and predictable. Most importantly, it's a quality surge protector that I can trust when using my equipment at other locations.

Don't settle for a normal plastic power strip with money guarantees
I bought this smaller version of the Furman power conditioner after having such a great first impression with its bigger brother; Furman PST-8D.As the name might suggest, the 8D has 8 outlets, and also an extra pair of coaxial in/out sockets. This smaller version is perfect for a living room TV, where you can allocate the sockets in the following way:1-TV2-DVR/cable box3-Console4-Apple TV5-Soundbar / Receiver6-Extra (floor lamp, charger for devices, etc)And of course you can run the coax cable through it.It is much bigger than a usual power strip, but it is built superbly. This is probably 3 or 4 times thicker than a usual power strip with the same footprint. There is a feeling of satisfaction when turning the power strip on as there is an electronic clunk that enables the protection of attached devices. As with its bigger brother, don't forget to register it asap. I prefer a company that doesn't blast ridiculous amounts of $$ all over their packaging with false promises of money back. I have yet to hear someone actually get money back from a company like Belkin/APC/etc...It's all marketing. Get something that helps avoid the issues in the first place than have to battle to get your money back.

Built like a tank
I can't say for certain that this is truly better than other power strips or that is doing anything good soundwise for the hifi equipment plugged into it. However I do have a little more peace of mind. This product is very rugged and heavy so should stand up to some knocks at least. The individual sockets are very tight, taking some effort to plug into but once in everything is stable. There is also good distance between the sockets so I can potentially use all of most of them. It is not cheap but from experience so far it is worth the investment for high end electronics or a home office setup.

A very good value Power Conditioner
I am a certified buyer of this unit. I bought this unit about a year ago from Amazon.I have two stereo system in my house, a high-end stereo system used for music listening only and an a mid-fi affordable system that I use for music and home theater purposes.First, you need to let the unit breaks in. I just plugged the unit into an electrical outlet and let it stayed there for about 3 days before trying it out.I used this unit first with my high-end system, consisted of KEF ref1s, MC452 amp, MC220 preamp, Chord Qutest DAC ... The difference is noticeable immediately. The whole system just sounded more musical and coherence. I would estimate the improvement is about 5-10% comparing to direct connection to a wall AC outlet. Just to be clear, my entire system was plugged into this unit except the MC452 power amp.Just for curiosity sake, I also used the Furman with my mid-fi system consisted of Wharfedale Opus-1, Adcom GFA-5500 power amp, Krell KRC-2 preamp, PS audio DAC,... and the difference was significantly larger than the high end system. Everything was improved far beyond my expectation. The whole system sound way better than direct connection to a wall AC outlet. In this scenario, I plugged my power amp (Adcom) directly into the unit with signification SQ improvement. I would estimate the improvement is about 20-30% comparing to direct ac connection from the wall outlet. From the two experiments, I concluded that the Furman works better with mid-fi system where the total components cost are below $6000. For a higher-end system, you would better off purchasing a better power conditioner from APC, Audioquest, PS Audio ... However, if your budget is tight, then this unit, the Furman, could be used with all system from low-end to higher-end with noticeable improvement depending on your electrical components.

Great Build But Downgraded HiFi Sound Quality
I bought this to get cleaner power for my HiFi system. This Furman made my system sound much more thin, would not recommend if you are looking to improve sound of your system. Plus side, this thing is very well built.
