Works as intended.
Like most families we have a few bits and pieces of jewelry, unpaired earrings, broken chains, etc. that have little value before but with the price of gold at all time high they are now worth testing and selling. The test kit is excellent, the solutions fresh and works great; at least for the gold which I used. I am assuming the same is true with the silver and platinum solutions. I’m not a jeweler but the kit is easy to use and seems to do what it is designed for which is all that matters. The price is very reasonable and the delivery was very prompt.

Great value- test most metals !!
Great value and bottles were nicely sealed around the caps. You get 2 stone surfaces 2x4 inches each which is adequate for testing different gold karats side by side.(Helpful storage hack- I used an old pool reagents container to store the bottles- they have divided sections for the bottles.)

Easy to use and accurate.
Has everything I need to test gold, silver and platinum. 10k and up are covered for gold and the test is easy to use. My wife was able to make a great profit on some unmarked earrings at an estate sale. She was also able to know when the gold being sold was not actually gold. If your serious about buying and selling gold you need this kit.

important for people who value their jewerly
I use this to test out the jewelry piece that I bought for my person online. It was supposed to be 18 karat, but it turns out that it was only 10 carat and I wouldn't have found out without this kit. The size of it is perfect if it's in any storage capacity bin that I have without taking up too much room and the functionality is simple so I would say this is a great value of money.

Acid is either old stock or improperly stored...
Jeweler here. This is the second time getting this product after sending a replacement. Same issue. The acid has lost any reactivity providing inaccurate/non-existent test results. Not sure if the product is really old stock or was improperly stored, but will not be purchasing from this seller again.Second photo is at my workplace, showing how the acid should look on the stone after reacting to the metal.
