Great Continuation of Classic Series
Marc Cameron doesn’t disappoint with his continuation of the classic Tom Clancy series of Jack Ryan. Good action, good plot turns, good character development. Overall - fun read. Keep em coming

Keeping up the tradition…
I found the book to be good. Detail as you found in the originals but with a modern touch of the times.

Great read… Typical of Tom Clancy style
The intricate plot, the variety of locales, and the overall tone of the book reminded me of all the many Clancy novels starting with Hunt for red October.

think about the Uyghur
A sonar operator captured a queer sound in the arctic ocean. At around the same time, DNI Foley informs the President Ryan about a missing Chinese scientist and their having a mole problem. It’s the beginning of “Shadow Of The Dragon.” The mysterious sound has been kicked up the Navy chain, and was analyzed as a possibility of a submarine in trouble. Foley assigned Adam Yao and Campus operators to search a Uyghur woman and her daughter for their protection. The Navy ordered available vessels rush to the scene, where missing submarine seemed to be stranded. The disabled submarine was found to be testing a newly developed stealth propulsion system in there. Chinese were desperately searching engineers concerned with this technology to prevent the idea flowing out of the country. The scene Chinese XO escapes in only an exposure suit from the stranded submarine is like seeing a deep sea adventure film. Marc Cameron spares the most part of the book for exodus adventure by Uyghur women and Campus operators. John Clark’s weather-beaten experience shines everywhere. Getting a devoted help from Wang Niu, Clark and an Uyghur girl made an exodus. Couldn’t identify, however, meeting with this old man being only a fluke, or having another hidden story in there. Cameron never forget to insert entertainment factor, like an unexpected meeting with JP, Chavez’s son, and Jack Jr.’s nature of easily taking a fancy, into the story. Mole hunter noticed their targets being plural. Cameron cautiously scatters hint of defectors in various occasions, I need to go back to the scene they first appeared for confirmation. Chinese assassin Fu Bohai’s arrogant and inhuman character stands for our hate to the country. BBC News reports recently, Mike Pompeo accuses China of its committing genocide in its repression of the Uyghur and other mainly Muslim peoples. Antony Blinken has said he agrees with this finding. Ryan’s resolute stance to Zhao in the closing chapter makes me feel as if a burden had been lifted off my mind. The book becomes good chance to think about people other than Han-tribe in that country and to re-consider our relation with them.

Does what it’s supposed to and rather well
Like the Clancy brand in general, nothing especially brilliant but creative enough, easy and entertaining. It easily served its purposes for me.

Excellent story
Tom Clancy's ghost writer has been uncovered. This fellow writes almost as well as Tom. He develops his characters perfectly.

Shadow of the Dragon
Excellent read. Kept in suspense right through the read. Can't wait to get stuck into the next book. Bring it on.

Interesting story.
Not as good as past novels written by this author.

Running out of steam
Most disappointing book in the series so far and it feels like Jack snr (how long has he been President) needs to be retired and maybe The Campus with him. A shame after so many good books but this just fell way short.

Engrossing.
As ever Clancy's depth of research is amazing as well as being enjoyable his books are very informative, you learn about geography, history and technology. Me, I'm astounded by the technology around in a world I no nothing about, and want to keep it that way. Good stuff escapism at its best. Cheers.
