Makes the next car along more attractive to steal
I bought it for a Toyota Yaris which has a protruding central boss on the steering wheel and this lock avoids going diagonally across from rim to rim. The first thing you notice, apart from the box covered in awards and ratings from independent tests, is the surprising weight – this a substantial bit of kit, heavy and solid enough to make the next car along far more attractive to the casual thief. It takes a little getting used to especially in cars with steering locks as the ideal location is straddling a spoke at the top of the steering wheel so the bar lies horizontally and highly visible in line with the dashboard. It is not a problem but it just means it helps to remember to give the steering wheel a quarter turn to leave a spoke pointing up before switching off the engine. It comes with a pair of steering wheel protectors, two silicon pads which clip on the bars of the lock and are shaped to fit around the rim of the steering wheel, the idea being they protect the steering wheel, particularly leather covered wheels, from scratches, chafing or wear. Unfortunately this is a work in progress. The pads work fine . . . if you can keep them in place. They have a tendency to fall off at the drop of a hat. You can hold them on with bulldog clips, but that does makes the steering wheel lock look a bit Heath Robinson. The company, though, are aware of the problem. They are a bonus item and have no effect on the operation or efficiency of the lock itself so if you tire of putting them back on when they fall off everything works just fine without them. The bag is a nice touch if you are a neat and tidy sort of person and all in all the Milenco is a substantial, visible deterrent which will require a lot of time, effort and probably power tools to remove without a key. The average car thief wants to break into a car and drive off as quickly as possible, the Milenco does not make it impossible to steal your car, just remarkably time consuming and extremely difficult, which makes the next car in the line a far more attractive proposition. That is its job and it does it well.

Great security
I was torn between this or the disklok steering wheel lock. I live in an area where car theft is high so wanted something secure. This is a really meaty lock. It's very solid which gives confidence in it's ability to make thieves think about targeting your car. It is easy to fit as it just slips over the wheel and to turn the handle end to lift the pins into place and then then the key. I' be got a Qashqai so i do have to make sure that the spokes on my steering wheel are turned around so I can fit it properly at the top of the steering wheel- a bit of a faff to start with as I kept forgetting but you soon get used to it. The lock comes with a couple of small plastic covers that fit on the bar of the lock and protect your steering wheel. They certainly protect the wheel but are a bit fiddly as they keep dropping off. I'm thinking about taping them on to the lock. It's nowhere as heavy as the disklok so you're probably more likely to use it, which for me was also a factor, however, it is still very sturdy. The lock also comes with a bag to store it in. Overall, I would recommend the lock. It's well worth the money.

Robust wheel lock.
This steering wheel lock looks and feels the business. Solid and strong in construction, fits the steering wheel of my Vauxhall Insignia snuggly? Easy and quick to fit. As previously mentioned, the two plastic inserts the protect the wheel come off easily, but easily secured by plastic clips. It’s yellow colour makes it visually obvious, encouraging would be thieves to look elsewhere. Because it’s so robust it’s a bit heavy, too heavy for my wife, so gave it 4 stars.

Solid piece of kit
Perfect fit, good pads offer protection for the steering wheel to prevent dents and marks on the leather when in place . Easy to use and fit. Very sold and a great visual deterrent.

Easy Fit Deterrent.
In a time when car crime is on the increase, anything that you can do to try and prevent the inconvenience, distress and financial implications of finding your car not where you left it, anything that may deter a thief from making off with your vehicle is a good thing. My previously steering lock (not a Milenco) didn't fit my new car very well and I managed to sound the horn every time I put it on or took it off, so I needed to find a replacement. That's where this Milenco High Security Steering Wheel Lock comes in. Arrived the next day and fits the steering wheel perfectly. As has been mentioned, it's best to fit with the bars straddling either side of the a spoke in the wheel, which for most cars, will mean putting a half turn on the steering before you put this on. That way it sits more snug and doesn't move around when it's in place. Heed the advice given here and on the box, when inserting the key *fully* into the lock before moving it to lock/unlock to prevent any issue. The little plastic pads that help position it on the wheel are useful and will stop any severe damage from softer leather steering wheels. I do agree with others that these do come off quite easily, so I am going to try and figure a way (besides gluing them shut when on the device) to keep them on so they don't fall off and get lost in the voids underneath the seats never to be seen again (like socks in a washing machine!). What I have also done is apply a little bit of adhesive felt to the underside of those tabs, and on the parts of the metal that still sit or press into the wheel - again, just to prevent any avoidable damage to the leather - on mine that makes it fit even more snug and movement free. Overall, despite the issue with the tabs coming off easily (which could be rectified easily I would imagine at manufacture), it's a great device and whilst not the cheapest on the market for this type of thing, given the recommendations, reviews and use of this device myself, then I would say it is money well spent to try and avoid a far higher cost without one. (Using this alongside a faraday box and pouch to prevent keyless theft is a no brainer).
