Well worth the price for a cat water fountain and filter. But same for reptiles and such.
As mentioned before I am an Engineer as well as a long time Cat Rescuer. At one time we have had 18 cats living full time in our home with us. We have also lost several to kidney disease. Two factors contribute - Dry Food (ALWAYS FEED WET as primary) and not free drinking enough. We are writing a book on 34+ years rescuing cats and painful lessons learned. Good sources of clean water they willingly drink from is a MUST.I had tried many water fountains for cats with bad results ranging from falling apart, to hard to clean/re-assemble, to virtually no filtering. I had the idea to try to repurpose fish or reptile water fountains/filters. As a lower cost alternative to the awesome, but much more expensive commercial cat filter/stream we have also. Some of our cats prefers this one and others the expensive one.All I do is have a very large (11" wide) stainless steel water bowl, a Mason Quart Jar, and velcro straps (looking for silicon rings instead) to hold the jar to the filter and stabilize both AND reduce the splatter from the waterfall. Works like a charm and low cost enough to have two...one clean and ready while the other is cleaned.Filters are easy to find, lasts long time, and low cost to maintain unit. So far we have been running two of these in two rooms for over a year (this third one is to have the cleaning rotation mentioned above)I highly recommend this one for both needs...aquatics and cats. Our cats gives a "Five Paws" review too.

Great little filter
For the cost this may be the best filter I have ever purchased. This is very quiet, it is in the room with me and I cannot hear it running. It was perfect for an extra filter in my paludarium. It.is not the most esthetically pleasing filter I have ever seen but for the price it could be a lot worse. It is small enough to not be noticeable amongst the aquarium decor and has snakes crawling over it constantly with no damage and the lid remains in place. I have bought more of these and just keep them in storage for other projects in the future.

Fantastic idea, cheap execution-still worth the price
Purchased primarily for the little lock hinge at the top since the suction cups never really work on these things, unfortunately the back piece is separate and held together like a loose zip tie and extremely fragile. Thankfully I did get 2, as the first one lasted a whole day before it was found broken in the bottom of our African sideneck turtle enclosure. The second one has been running smoothly since I installed a screw, but silicone or foam would also likely be a solid workaround. All in all though it's great, the removable sleeve to catch debris is an especially nice touch making cleaning even easier and it's significantly more quiet than the green filters you'll find at big name pet stores. Even with fixing up one small issue it's worth the cost and I'll likely be back for more of these bad boys, plus silicone.

Filter Flounder: A Disappointing Experience with the Aquarium Internal Filter for Turtles
My experience with the Aquarium Internal Filter for Turtles has been deeply unsatisfactory. In my search for an effective filtration solution to maintain a healthy aquatic environment for my turtles, this product has proven to be a disappointing choice, leaving me with frustration and concerns for my pets' well-being.To start with, the functionality of the Aquarium Internal Filter for Turtles has been lackluster at best. Despite its intended purpose of providing reliable water filtration, the filter's performance has fallen far short of expectations. It struggles to effectively clean and purify the water in the turtle tank, leaving behind debris and waste that compromise the water quality. The build quality of the filter is also concerning. The materials used feel cheap and flimsy, which raises doubts about the filter's longevity and durability. The filter's design lacks the robustness needed to withstand the demands of maintaining a clean and healthy aquatic habitat for turtles.Furthermore, the filter's size and capacity appear to be inadequate for turtle tanks. Turtles are known to produce a significant amount of waste, and the filter's inability to cope with the waste load is a major drawback. The filter's limited capacity and subpar filtration abilities put the turtles' health at risk by exposing them to water conditions that are less than optimal. The installation and maintenance of the filter have been equally disappointing. The filter's setup process may be complicated and time-consuming, and the maintenance routine may involve more effort than anticipated. The inconvenience of dealing with a filter that underperforms and requires frequent attention detracts from the overall enjoyment of caring for pet turtles. In conclusion, the Aquarium Internal Filter for Turtles has proven to be an ineffective and unsatisfactory choice for maintaining a healthy and clean aquatic environment for pet turtles. From its subpar filtration abilities and inadequate waste-handling capacity to its questionable build quality and inconvenience in installation and maintenance, this filter falls short in every aspect. If you're seeking a filtration solution that prioritizes the well-being of your turtles and the overall health of their habitat, I strongly recommend exploring alternatives from reputable brands that prioritize quality and functionality. The Aquarium Internal Filter for Turtles has left me with frustration and concerns for my pets' well-being, and I cannot recommend it to anyone seeking an effective and reliable filtration system for their turtle tank.

Gets clogged fast
This is a nice filter for the price and it does work, but my experience so far isn't great. Anytime I clean my 10- gallon tank the filter keeps the water clean until it's time to feed my turtle. Debris I miss or any turtle droppings get caught in the filter and it needs to be cleaned too often.Noise level is amazing. I wish this filter worked for me but it's inconvenient and I'm looking for a different one. Having to disturb my turtle often to clean what the filter doesn't stresses him out.

Good for cat fountain
I bought this filter to make a fountain for my cats. I bought activated carbon to put in it and everything works perfectly for a very affordable price. Cats now drink like drunks. On the other hand, if I had to do it again, I would choose a compact filter that has no part that sticks out on the side. This takes up a lot of space in the bowl and you have to find a very large one that is twice the width of the filter so that the water jet can be in the middle. But it's a bit out of the ordinary. Otherwise, this filter is silent, efficient and I am very satisfied.
