PrepWorks Canning Essentials Set - Complete Canning Tools for Safe, Efficient Home Canning, Jars, and Lid Handling

I bought this item for myself and for a friend's wedding gift (she is new to canning). I love the mess-free funnel for my mason jars and the jar lifter is sooooo much better than the one that came with my canner- the metal arms detached from the top of the handle during lifting hot jars full of water and I nearly scaled myself. This lifter has a "spring" design that makes it much safer and substantial than my dangerous old type. So happy with the quality. I know she will also be happy.

They are made very well and feel very sturdy I the hand. Not flimsy in any way... Has everything you need to can all your harvest. Very sturdy and easy to hold. I have arthritis in my hands, which can be difficult to use thin flimsy handles. The jar siphon sets perfectly on widemouth or regular jars and it has a good wide opening. The magnetic stick has the perfect strength. Over all great value , and optimal performance!

I LOVE this funnel! I have always made a huge mess while canning. Although I have tried other funnels, there’s always a little wiggling that happens that causes spilling, and then the debate of where to put it when I’m not using it. This kept the tops of my jars so clean I barely needed to wipe them. The tongs are great too! I highly recommend this, even to people who have their canning supplies established because they are far better than the traditional tools.

The jar lifter and funnel work great. Very sturdy. Makes loading my jars easy. The magnet is my only complaint, very weak.

I've been getting into canning and preserving recently. I needed a wide-mouth funnel, a hot jar-handler, etc. I looked at several until I saw this set. The funnel heavy-duty, double-walled, and has measuring guides on the side so you can achieve the desired headspace in the jars. The jar-handler is thick, extra sturdy, and easy to grip. The only gripe I have is I wish magnetic lid-grabber were a bit longer so it can reach deeper into the hot water. Also, the magnet does work, but I wish it was stronger. These are minor issues, however. This was the stand out version of the tools I needed.

This set is of course for canning. I love that the tongs have a spring so it’s less onerous to use them over and over to lift loaded down cans out of the pressure canner. The funnel is the real star of this show, though. It’s sized perfectly for both regular and wide mouth jar compatibility and it has little measurements to make sure you leave the right amount of head space. This is very important in canning! I do find that this funnel is useful for kitchen uses beyond canning and it has earned a regular spot in the utensil drawer. The magnetic lid mover is also nice but pretty self explanatory.

Product is made to US container dimensions. Had to fabricate a sleeve to adapt it to smaller metric sizing containers used. Magnet on wand can be stronger. Build quality is about a 7.5/10.

I wanted something that was going to last rather than the ones that come in the cheaper kits. Plus I didn't want to mess around with the head space measurements so this funnel will make that alot easier.
