Been looking at this watch for nearly 3 years wondering to get it as the price suggests it’s cheaply made. On arrival I am happy to state the watch has no defects and works perfectly so far. It’s a simple watch with a Japanese auto movement again cheap but reliable. The watch is nice to look at and appears nothing like the price should reflect and I think this may be why these watches got popular on release. Obviously the strap is not if good quality but that’s understandable given the selling price. All in all a excellent watch at this price point and I can’t think of anything that would beat it at the moment. Invicta have never let me down when it comes to quality against cost as what they manage to do for less that £100 is astonishing. Comparing this watch to some I’ve seen from Japanese micro brands is night and day as you won’t find any flaws or sharp edging. Yes you may get synthetic sapphire in a PD but you get the same quality as the lucky lucky man on the beach in Majorca for £10.

Brilliant value
Ignore the naysayers who slag off invicta, this watch is first class, punching well above its price point. Exterior it is very good quality and married with a seiko movement it is brilliant. Highly recommended.

It's personal I know. But I love this homage watch
Okay this watch brings out the haters and the lovers and the completely indifferent. All I can tell you is that the styling is not pretentious, it is robust, looks nice, works well. My daughter said she hates it as it'#s pretending to be a Rolex but I disagree, this watch seems comfortable in it's own skin/brand, yes it pays an enormous homage to a Rolex but I will never be able to afford one of those and will never but another actual fake one (bought one in Thailand that looked incredible but only lasted the duration of my trip there (about 3 months)). This watch is comfortable and I genuinely think it looks and feels nice and the automatic movement seems so far to be reliable and accurate. Maybe I'll try to update this review after a year or so of ownership to advise if it's still doing well but so far, (about 3 months now of pretty much daily wear) no complaints at all

Invicta's showpiece watch
I have a number of Invicta watches, both electric and with automatic movements. I bought this watch because it is hard to obtain in the UK and it will be a collectors item in time. A homage to the first Rolex Submariner which was produced in 1953 (one of which I also own). This is the first Invicta watch which I have bought which gains/loses more than a few seconds a day. However, a watchmaker will be able to adjust the watch if one finds it's accuracy unacceptable. Otherwise, the finish is great, the build quality is very good and it really is waterproof; certainly to about 70 feet. I have not done deeper in it. Basically, tghe watch does everything a freal "quality" divers watch does, for a fraction of the price.

Excellent value. Great watch. Vintage looks.
Thought I'd check out the hype for just over 100 bucks. Everything aligns. Keeps great time. Great bezel action with no back play. Cool vintage looks. Only downside is no saphire crystal, but then again neither did the '53 Rolex it's based upon. I don't do metal bracelets so swapped it on to vintage leather straight away. The only Invicta you'll ever need. Overall highly delighted at the price.

Excellent watch.
Excellent watch, very reminiscent of the 1953 Rolex Submariner.

Classic elegant diver style.
Wow what a beautiful watch, a homage to the Rolex Submariner 6204 from 1953 it really is an elegant piece. It has the Seiko NH-35A automatic movement, which is very accurate (I have two within +/-5 secs per day) and at this price something of a bargain. The bracelet is quite good, nice thick links but let down by hollow endlinks and a pressed clasp but again it's not an expensive watch. It looks fantastic on an Oysterflex style rubber strap which are very comfortable. The lume is poor but that's my only minor criticism, the 31290 is a great looking watch, buy one if you can find one.

Recieved the watch today, everything is truly awsome! Gorgeous watch!, very nice packaging and solid feel. We will see how it holds up but from my first impressions I would highly recommend it.

I'm not much of a fan of Invicta - usually. But this is maybe their best. It's a tribute to the dive watches of old. Quality, decent heft, the automatic movement keeps good time and it wears well on the wrist.

Invicta 10!

When a watch enthusiast hears the word "homage" it tends to invoke an idea of "fake flex" with a knockoff trying to pass off as the more expensive version it's emulating. When a watch enthusiast hears the word "Invicta", it also tends to invoke the idea of "fake flex" with their line of oversized, over styled watches with ludicrous MSRP's that are deeply discounted to make you feel like you got the deal of a lifetime. Ironic then that Invicta of all people would release a watch that feels much more like a fitting tribute to a classic, then a cheap attempt to impress the luddites at the club. Enter the Invicta 1953, a remarkably accurate representation of the original Rolex Submariner Ref 6204 released in "not surprisingly" 1953. The reason I resist calling this an "homage" is because there is no "fake flash" to be had here. The Submariner Ref 6204 is such a rare piece, that the odds that you find one actually residing on someone's wrist today is non-existent. Also, the original submariner doesn't have many of the details that a modern rolex has. There is no date window with Cyclops. No minute markers on the bezel. No famous Mercedes hand set. In fact the original Ref 6204 bears relatively little resemblance to what the submariner would eventually become. So wearing a tribute watch to the "original submariner" isn't going to get you noticed. Also, this watch lacks the over the top styling and branded found on many of Invicta's other pieces. And as shown in the pictures is a surprisingly accurate representation. Granted, the 40mm case size is more in line with modern aesthetics than the original 37mm case size of the 6204. The second hand is missing the lume on the lollipop pip, and the Invicta is definitely thicker at 14.5mm to incorporate the ubiquitous Seiko NH34 movement. The 120 click uni-directional bezel is amazingly good at this price point with little or no play and good alignment with the index markers. The lume, while not amazing, is definitely a step up from what Invicta offers on their other divers. We're not talking Seiko or Citizen dive watch level lume here, but it is servicable. Speaking of Diving, Invicta claims this watch has 200m of water resistance, but it isn't an ISO Divers certified 200m, so it's not really built or tested for Scuba Diving. That being said, as long as you remember to screw down the crown, the watch should provide a respectable level of water resistance The bracelet is competent and consists of mostly solid links. The hollow end links and pressed clasp actually leans into the original vintage feel as the 6204 also sported a pressed clasp with hollow end-links. The bracelet itself has 4 levels of micro adjustment guaranteeing a good fit and it's well finished and comfortable as well. So Bottom Line, If you are a watch enthusiast, you get a competent, pleasantly accurate interpretation of a watch that was destined to become a classic. A reference that most of us will never see in real life, let alone have the option to own or wear. Whether or not the Invicta brand is a deal killer or not, one thing remains. Invicta, as a brand, has nearly a 70 year longer history than Rolex, and let's be honest, the Invicta branding does drive down the price of this watch to the level of almost being a no brainer. Even the most hardened watch snob can see this as being a special watch. If you aren't a watch enthusiast, you are getting a well made automatic Seiko for a fraction of what Seiko charges for their entry level mechanical watches. It's NH34 movement means that you can take it down to almost any watch repair shop and have it serviced.
