Dawn Ultra Dishwashing Liquid, Original Scent 90 Fl. Oz.

In 1978, when I was working at my first job as a Kennel Worker at an animal clinic, a duck was brought into our clinic to be put to sleep. It somehow got covered in a slick coat of oil that polluted the pond where the duck had been found. Luckily I used to wash the dog bowls, and we used DAWN. I knew it cut through grease. DAWN had been on the market for only a few years but the ads on TV claimed it cut grease. I knew it did. So rather than put the duck down, the nice vets said, "sure, give it a shot." I gave that duck a bunch of baths in DAWN and was overjoyed when we let the duck go, all clean, a couple of days later. It flew off like nothing happened. So I've been a fan of DAWN ever since, and it's just as good today as it was in 1978, in my opinion. Nowadays I live on a shore, so I always keep an eye out for waterfowl who might need a bath. If I find any I'll give them a bath in DAWN. (In other news, it's great on housecleaning and dishwashing!)

Honestly, I have an automatic dishwasher and still blow through a bottle of Dawn every month or so. I use it to scrub down my kitchen sink and counters with one of those green scrubby things from Scotch, I use it with a non-abrasive cleaning rag on my cabinets and fridge and stove and microwave, I use it to clean my patio furniture, my decks, my brick patio floors. I use it as shampoo for my dogs and for me. It's an excellent soak before a pedicure, and makes for an excellent cleaner on the exterior side of my windows. A squirt in the laundry with our running shoes makes a difference. If your oven is relatively clean, a slather of Dawn once a week will keep it looking good. It's our hand soap refill in all our bathrooms and works great as a shower gel. Smells good, inexpensive, one bottle for many tasks means less storage, a real winner for us!

Ever since the Exon Valdez spill in Alaska, Dawn has been coming to mankind's aide in all sorts of ways! We saw on the news how it cleaned the oil off of the marine critters that were devastated by the oil spill, and as we were to find out it is excellent for cleaning just about everything in the house and around the yard! It can even be used to clean your carpets! I keep some in a pump bottle at my kitchen sink to wash my hands before preparing food.

Love the value of this size bottle (90 oz) and Dawn gets the job done well, but it's so hard on my hands I don't think I can buy again. Great at cutting through the grease but if I don't wear gloves, my skin is a wreck for days. So a heads up if you have sensitive skin.
